Fans of How I Met Your Mother are no strangers to long waits, waiting nine years to find out exactly how said mother was met, and finally, another wait for fans is over; after six years since the show’s final airing, How I Met Your Mother is finally getting Funko Pop! vinyls.

Airing from 2005 to 2014, How I Met Your Mother falls into the same realm as shows like Friends or Seinfeld when it comes to cult classic sitcoms, so it honestly comes as quite the surprise that it has taken Funko this long to make Pops! based off the franchise. The series followed Ted Mosby retelling the story of how he met his children’s mother to his children in excruciating detail through a series of flashbacks, although one could argue that the entirety of the show is one long flashback. He recollects everything from slap contests with his friends to using Star Wars as a qualification for dating. While the story does center around his journey to find love, the rest of the colorful cast of characters also get their shot in the spotlight, creating absolutely classic moments like Robin Sparkles or the line “suit up!” The show went on for quite a while, with 208 episodes total, and thirty Emmy Awards nominations, ten of those being wins.

With hundreds of episodes of content to pull references from, it is slightly unfortunate to learn that as of right now, only two How I Met Your Mother Pops! exist, but luckily they are pretty epic, hopefully opening the door for the rest of the cast to be “Funko-ed” later on. The first of the two figures is the leading man himself, Ted Mosby. Fans will be absolutely delighted by the fact that the figure isn’t simply just Ted, but Ted holding the blue french horn that he stole for Robin in the pilot episode, throwing it all the way back to where everything first started. Ted isn’t the only character to get the Pop! treatment, Barney Stinson, the man who must always suit up, is also primed for Funko action. Standing suave as ever, the womanizing Barney Stinson stands drink in hand, ready to party the night away.

While it is a bit of a disappointment that the wave is starting so small, only featuring two characters from a show so full of life, one can only assume that this is simply just the start of more How I Met Your Mother Funko Pop! Vinyls. Once these Pops! fly off the shelves, Funko is bound to make more figures so that good ole Marshall Eriksen can make his way into everyone’s Funko collections (or at least we can hope). The figures are set to release on November 15.
