Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers focuses on the superhero team the Avengers, taking inspiration from both cinematic and comic book representations of the beloved superheroes. It bodes for a fast-paced adventure, but how long it takes to complete largely depends on how the gamer chooses to play.

There are nineteen different missions in Marvel’s Avengers, all of varying lengths, and technically twenty if players include Marvel’s Avengers’ endgame content. The first two missions focus on Avengers Day celebrations before the San Francisco disaster, which led the Avengers to disband. Players assume the role of Kamala Khan, who at this point fully believes she’s just a regular girl, as she enjoys A-Day celebrations in San Francisco with her father after winning the trip through a fan-fiction contest.

The third mission, titled “New Normal,” fast-forwards several years to feature a grown-up Kamala who sets out in order to reunite the Avengers and save the world. Following the supposed death of Captain America, and particularly since A.I.M has targeted her as Inhuman, Kamala is sure to face all kinds of problems throughout the course of Marvel’s Avengers‘ story campaign… but for how long?

The Length Of Marvel’s Avengers Depends On The Player

How long it takes to complete Marvel’s Avengers really depends on how the player decides to play the game. There are various daily missions, side objectives, and other tasks that player can complete in order to extend their gameplay experience. Each hero and faction, for instance, has their own side missions, which provides players with rewards, like new outfits, when finished. If players choose to only focus narrowly on the single-player story campaign, they can finish it in roughly 8-12 hours. However, if players take their time and enjoy the various side quests and tasks, Marvel’s Avengers could take upwards of 30 hours to complete, and many of the modes are designed to be repeated over and over with friends.

It’s also clear that players should expect Marvel’s Avengers to incorporate even more content for extended gameplay going forward. Crystal Dynamics has confirmed there are several free updates already planned for Marvel’s Avengers, which will help add new content in the form of newly-added heroes and missions. Most recently, it was announced that Kate Bishop would be joining The Avengers in October, and Clint Barton will be coming one month later. Therefore, as Marvel’s Avengerscontinues to grow and expand, the length of time it takes players to fully complete the game will continue to increase, incentivizing them to continue coming back to the game even after completing the initial story.
