The upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die, is the 25th Bond film. Since the franchise’s beginnings, the titular character has killed a lot of bad guys. From the franchise’s beginnings featuring Sean Connery in the role, right up until the most-recent films with Daniel Craig’s Bond, the character has had several hundred on-screen kills.

While No Time to Die has had its release date pushed back from April to November of this year due to the coronavirus, the 25th installment in a franchise is still an occasion worth celebrating: thus, it is an excellent time to tally up 007’s death toll from over six decades of feature films.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

James Bond is famously known for his “license to kill” and uses his license seemingly at random, with films ranging from literally one villain killed at his hands to hundreds of bad guys wiped out in seconds, with a clever pun delivered shortly after.

Sean Connery

The legendary Scotsman and heavily-favored James Bond actor by many starred in Dr. No (1964): 7 deaths, From Russia with Love (1963): 8 deaths, Goldfinger (1964): 8 deaths, Thunderball (1965): 17 deaths, You Only Live Twice (1967): 21 deaths and Diamonds Are Forever (1971): 7 deaths. Connery’s charismatic and sexy performances, coupled with the quality made and quickly released films, made him the most popular Bond to date with a total of 68 deaths on-screen.

George Lazenby

The Australian actor filled in as James Bond during an awkward transitional period of Bonds between Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Lazenby starred only in one film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, which received a lukewarm reception from fans and critics. He killed 6 enemies throughout the movie.

Roger Moore

The English actor had a controversial, but commercially successful, run of seven movies as James Bond. Sir Roger Moore also recently passed away, dying of prostate cancer in 2017. He starred in Live and Let Die (1973): 6 deaths, The Man with the Golden Gun (1974): 1 death, The Spy Who Loved Me (1977): 18 deaths, Moonraker (1979): 12 deaths, For Your Eyes Only (1981): 15 deaths, Octopussy (1983): 64 deaths and A View to a Kill (1985): 5 deaths. Roger Moore’s James Bond racked up an impressive 121 kills over 7 films.

Timothy Dalton

Timothy Dalton is a Bond often forgotten, but nonetheless, he delivered very solid performances in his two-film run as 007. He starred in The Living Daylights (1987): 10 deaths and License to Kill (1989): 10 deaths as well. He used his license to kill 20 times over two movies before a six-year gap until the next James Bond film was released.

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan played another iconic James Bond that many people currently in their 20s and 30s view as the “real” James Bond. He also was the face of many successful James Bond video games. Pierce starred in Goldeneye (1995): 34 deaths, Tomorrow Never Dies (1997): 24 deaths, The World is Not Enough (1999): 21 deaths and Die Another Day (2002): 24 deaths. Brosnan closed out his time as James Bond with a death toll of 103 people.

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig’s performance as James Bond is both quietly suave and cunning, coupled with a brutality and ferocity not unlike Jason Bourne. He unsurprisingly has the largest amount of kills so far, and he isn’t even done yet. He has starred in Casino Royale (2006): 11 deaths, Quantum of Solace (2008): 16 deaths, Skyfall (2012): 17 deaths and Spectre (2015): with an insane 235 deaths!

It is impossible to tell how many more kills Daniel Craig will add in the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die. What is certain is that Craig will once again deliver a quality performance as he always does and leave the franchise on a strong note. No Time To Die is scheduled for release on November 12, 2020 in the U.K. and November 25, 2020 in the United States. The total kill count for James Bond across his 24 films so far is 597 people killed by 007’s hands, guns, harpoons, spa equipment and whatever else he can get his hands on. That number will only continue to rise in the coming years.
