Despite not being a super-soldier, Sam Wilson, a.k.a. the new Captain America, managed to lift a truck primarily by himself in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier finale. After almost two years of waiting, fans finally saw Sam become the new Captain America following Avengers: Endgame where Steve Rogers passed on the mantle (or shield, to be more precise) onto the Falcon. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier finale had Sam and Bucky taking on the Flag-Smashers once and for all, with Sam taking on Steve’s former title. While Sam isn’t a super-soldier, the MCU’s next Captain America is still more than capable of accomplishing the impossible. During The Falcon and The Winter Soldier finale, Sam dons a new costume that was made by allies in Wakanda, making it a huge upgrade for the former Falcon.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

At one point, the Flag-Smashers were trying to get multiple GRC members murdered by locking them inside trucks. While Bucky manages to secure one of them, the other truck almost falls into the Hudson River. But thanks to Sam, he succeeds in getting the truck by lifting it back up to safety. However, Sam isn’t a super-soldier, so how was he able to lift it?

It all boils down to the added touch by the Wakandans, as Sam’s new wings are made of Vibranium, providing extra strength and thruster power that would allow him to accomplish such a feat. Sam also had not one, but two Redwings that attached themselves to the truck’s front to assist him. It was vital for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s sixth episode to show that while Sam is the new Captain America, he doesn’t have the Super-Soldier Serum flowing through his veins. It is, obviously, a huge moment in the MCU’s history for Sam to take on the iconic title. But it is just as imperative to remind people that Sam is still human, without any enhancements like Steve and Bucky. Despite his latest wings consisting of Vibranium, it doesn’t change that Sam has to rely on his own skills, tactics, and strength.

But it wouldn’t be shocking if the suit and the wings keep getting upgraded, following The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s finale. After all, the Wakandan designers did create it very quickly as it was needed urgently, meaning that there is potentially room for modifications to make it even better. What will most likely happen in his next adventures, including Captain America 4, is Sam will probably be making his own adjustments to the whole uniform, particularly the wings. Just like many other MCU heroes, every time they sport new suits and equipment, it’s primarily to make it better and stronger.

Ultimately, Sam will be a unique Captain America because while Steve was undoubtedly human, there is more humanity to Falcon due to him not being a super-soldier. Throughout his time in the MCU, Sam has proven over and over again that he doesn’t need powers or any type of boost to be a powerful superhero. While it was a brief scene in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s finale, seeing Sam lifting a heavy truck mostly on his own, is an empowering movement in itself, as his journey as the MCU’s new Captain America is just beginning.
