The NoteIt app is a fun way to send personal notes to a close friend or partner, but did you know you can make the app even better by adding the NoteIt widget? There are seemingly endless notetaking apps available for the iPhone. The built-in Notes app from Apple is great for most users, Evernote is a popular choice for lots of people, and options like Google Keep and Microsoft OneNote are solid, too.

Above all of those, one app that’s become especially popular is NoteIt. NoteIt is quite a bit different from the apps mentioned above. Instead of being a place to store grocery lists or important notes for work/school, NoteIt is all about sending fun messages to someone else. Two people download NoteIt, link their accounts, and can then send handwritten notes and drawings to each other. All of these notes are available right in the NoteIt app, and new notes are available almost immediately.

As much fun as it is to see these notes from a friend/partner in the NoteIt app, seeing them on your iPhone home screen is even better. Thanks to the NoteIt widget, doing so takes just a couple of taps. Anywhere on your iPhone home screen, press and hold on an app or widget until a pop-up menu appears. Tap ‘Edit Home Screen,’ tap the ‘+’ icon in the upper-left corner, scroll down, tap ‘NoteIt,’ and then tap ‘Add Widget.’ Now, any notes sent from your NoteIt friend are displayed on the NoteIt widget.

Tips For Customizing Your NoteIt Widget

Adding the NoteIt widget is easy enough, but there are a couple of extra tips that’ll help you get the most out of it. For one thing, there are actually two NoteIt widgets to choose from — including Small and Large options. The first NoteIt widget that appears on the widget menu is the Small one. It takes up the least room on your home screen, but it may also be difficult to see certain notes on it. If you want your notes to shine at the expense of using more of your home screen, swipe left on the first NoteIt widget and choose the larger style (as shown in the first photo).

Furthermore, while tapping ‘Add Widget’ is the easiest way to add the NoteIt widget, all that does is place it on the first available spot on the home screen. Instead of tapping that button, press and hold on the widget, wait a second, and then drag it around the screen. This allows users to place the NoteIt widget in the exact spot they want, rather than relying on iOS to pick for them. Keep these things in mind, and you’ll be enjoying the NoteIt widget in no time at all.
