Players will need to battle Jessie and James for the December event in Pokemon Go. This guide will help players learn how they can battle them. To celebrate the release of an upcoming Pokemon Jungle Movie, the game has added a special limited-time event to bring in players. For starters, a new Special Research is available in the game that rewards the player with a Shiny Celebi, one of the main characters of the film, upon completing it. One of the challenges for this Special Research requires that the player defeat Jessie and James in battle a total of 4 times. This guide will help players realize what they need to do to find and challenge them.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Jessie and James have been one of the most consistent parts of the Pokemon brand. Outside of the Pokemon themselves, Jessie and James have been one of the few constants that have existed in the anime, card games, video games, and more. While the game and the anime exist in different Pokemon universes, Jessie and James have made an appearance in both. Not even Ash Ketchum, the main character of the Pokemon anime, has made an appearance in the video games. It just goes to show what Team Rocket will go through to protect the world from devastation. Here’s how players can battle them in Pokemon Go.

How To Battle Jessie and James in Pokemon Go (December 2020)

Players will be able to encounter Jessie and James in the Meowth balloon that spawns in the game. While it might seem random, there is a certain pattern of when these balloons spawn. After every 6th hour, a new Team Rocket balloon will spawn in the game and there’s a chance that it will be Jessie and James. To optimize your play, check into the game every 6th hour for a chance to run into them. Here’s a simple breakdown to make it easier to time when to find them.

  • 12am-6am: Team Rocket Balloon Spawn.
  • 6am-12pm: Another Team Rocket Balloon Spawn.
  • 12pm-6pm: Another Team Rocket Balloon Spawn.
  • 6pm-12am: Another Team Rocket Balloon Spawn.

Players are given four chances to encounter them a day. Keep checking in during the right time intervals to complete this challenge. The player will need to battle them 4 times to move forward in the Special Research. Defeating them isn’t too bad either. Bring along a Rock-type Pokemon for Jessie and a Fire-type for James. They will surely be blasting off again once you find them.
