The Final Fantasy 7 Remake came with a variety of incredibly fun, reimagined boss fights for players to try. Along with the boss fights of the main story, players can engage in optional VR Mission boss fights to obtain special summon Materia, and the FF7 Remake INTERmission DLC added even more of these for players to beat.

Ramuh is one of the new optional bosses available in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC. As with every other VR mission, players must interact with the NPC Chadley to begin the mission. Ramuh is available immediately once the player encounters Chadley in the DLC, but players should return to the Avalanche headquarters and pick up another party member before they attempt the fight.

How to Beat Ramuh in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade

Once the battle is first unlocked, party member Yuffie will likely be around Level 25. While players can grind a bit and level up the party before they attempt the battle, defeating Ramuh is doable (albeit slightly harder) at Level 25.

Ramuh is weak to Wind, has greater resistance to Fire and Ice, and absorbs Lightning. He’s also immune to abilities like Poison, Silence, Sleep, and similar effects. Players should adjust what Materia they have equipped based on these stats.

Most of Ramuh’s attacks are Magical, so Magic Resistant armor is good to have. Here are each of his attacks, and how to counter them:

  • Levin Arrows: This is the first move Ramuh will use in combat. Multiple projectiles shoot into the ground, leaving behind electrical landmines that deal damage and will paralyze the player on contact. Players should dodge to get as far from this area as possible, then focus on attacking Ramuh.
  • Voltaic Lance: Ramuh shoots a huge projectile. It can be avoided easily by running to either side of it.
  • Lightning Strike: Ramuh strikes the player with lightning. The strike spot is marked on the floor and can be avoided by running in a straight line.
  • Thunderous Orbs: Ramuh shoots electro balls that lock onto the player and follow them. They can be avoided by running left or right continuously, and can also be blocked. Players should send Yuffie in to attack directly after.
  • Luminous Falchion: This is a close-ranged physical attack where Ramuh uses his staff to strike the player multiple times. Players should block this if they are not already out of its range.
  • Charged Current: An AOE move where Ramuh sends out a powerful electric current. Players should run as far from Ramuh as possible to avoid being hit.
  • Summon Sparks: This move marks the second phase of the fight. Ramuh summons honing electrical sparks that empower Ramuh.
  • Spark Flail: A physical move only used after Summon Sparks. Ramuh jumps onto the player with a burst of electrical energy. Players can avoid it by dodging or continuously running.
  • Orbiting Wand: Another physical move used after Summon Sparks. Ramuh throws his staff, and it circles the arena. After avoiding its initial throw, players can go in to attack Ramuh.
  • Circuitous Bolt: A rotating electric AOE move that can be avoided by distancing the party from Ramuh.

As long as players have the correct Materia and keep moving around the arena, avoiding Ramuh’s attacks shouldn’t be too difficult. After the battle, players will obtain the summoning Materia for Ramuh, allowing them to summon the fabled Lord of Levin in regular combat to fight alongside the player.
