Roddy is one of the more delicate bosses players will come across in Bravely Default 2. This guide will show players how to defeat him. Fairly early into chapter 2, players will need to face off against Roddy. While Roddy himself is massively misunderstood, he is only fighting to bring back his daughter and the only thing standing in his way is the player. He has been manipulated to believe he has the power to bring them back. Players will encounter Roddy after defeating Prince Castor. This guide will show players his move set and how players can prepare to defeat him.

When you fight against Roddy, you’re actually facing off against him and Beleth, the demon who is partaking in controlling Roddy. Like with many Bravely Default challenges, players will need to deal with both enemies at the same time to emerge victoriously. Funny enough, Roddy isn’t the real threat in this battle due to how many weaknesses he has. Players will struggle against Beleth though due to its massive amount of immunities. Before jumping into the battle, make sure to avoid bring teammates with Wind, Thunder, Earth, and Ice moves for Roddy. Here is how players can win this battle.

How To Beat Roddy in Bravely Default 2

For starters, players will want to focus their attacks against Roddy directly. If you have a Thief, use the Brave move and combine it with Godspeed Strike to dish out tons of damage. Make sure to repeat this process until Roddy is down. Now, the player will need to focus on taking down Beleth. Beleth has a weakness to Thunder moves so spam these to take him down quickly. Make sure to pay attention to your party’s HP, especially for the character dishing out the most damage. Heal accordingly and continue to attack until Beleth and Roddy are both defeated.

Once the player is done, they can pick up the Red Mage Asterisk Job and head over to the next boss battle. At this point in the game, players will spend a lot of their time taking on boss battles. Since the series exists as a way for players to experience what the classic Final Fantasy titles used to be, it’s important to grind at points to keep up with the rest of the game. Grinding might not be for everyone, but it is a great way for players to take the time and craft their perfect teams. Later bosses will require players to grind for the best possible stats and gear so practice up.
