Gnomes are back in Fortnite as a part of the Season 5 Week 5 challenges where players will need to bury two gnomes in order to gain a massive amount of XP. This is only one of several new challenges introduced in Week 5 that will help players reach level 100 in no time. This guide will help players locate both Gnomes that need to be buried to complete the challenge.

Gnomes have played a vital role in some of Fortnite’s side stories. In fact, Chapter 2 Season 2 saw a side storyline designated to the Gnomes who had started a war with the Teddy Bears. However, Gnomes have plagued Fortnite for longer than Chapter 2. In Chapter 1 there were several challenges that required players to locate hidden giggling gnomes in order to unlock certain items or gain XP. Now, it seems that the Gnomes are getting into even more trouble causing players to need to bury them underground.

Where To Bury Gnomes In Fortnite Season 5

The challenge to bury Gnomes is the third in a line of Epic challenges. Players will first need to locate buried Gnomes at Fort Crumpet and Pleasant Park to dig them up. Afterward, players will need to collect Gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Holly Hedges. Presumably, these are the two Gnomes that players will use to bury at different locations. The locations that players need to bury their gnomes are Pleasant Park and Retail Row which are both marked on the map located above. Players need only to locate the burial site and press the action button to bury their Gnomes. This week’s Epic Challenges are some of the easiest yet since players aren’t required to interact with other players to complete them.

Why these Gnomes need to buried while the others needed to be freed is a mystery, but it is nice of the player to lend a helping hand. It does lead players to question whether this will have repercussions on the Gnomes’ overall storyline. Will the Gnomes rise up against the players? Or are they okay with a momentary dirt bath? Regardless, players will be rewarded with 22XP after helping dig up the Gnomes getting them one step closer to reaching level 100 and unlocking the coveted Baby Yoda back bling.
