Apple TV+ has a ton of excellent content for folks to watch, but for anyone losing interest in Apple‘s streaming service, canceling a subscription takes just a few seconds. While Apple is still primarily a hardware company, its shift into the services niche has become monumental over the last couple of years. It has a subscription service for mobile games with Apple Arcade, offers premium news coverage with Apple News+, on-demand workouts via Apple Fitness+, and unlimited music streaming thanks to Apple Music. No matter what someone’s in the market for, there’s a good chance Apple has a service just for it.

One such service is Apple TV+. Launched in November 2019, Apple TV+ has quickly risen as one of the top streaming apps to watch. It’s home to the beyond excellent Ted LassoThe Morning Show, and top-tier movies like CODA and Boys State. Its content library may not be as large as Netflix or Hulu, but from a quality standpoint, Apple TV+ has consistently put out more winners than losers.

Even so, that’s not to say Apple TV+ is for everyone. If someone’s free trial is ending or they no longer feel like paying the $5/month asking price, the good news is that canceling an Apple TV+ subscription is a piece of cake. Per Apple’s instructions, the easiest way to cancel is by visiting ‘tv.apple.com.’ Click ‘Sign in’ at the top-right of the website to log in with your Apple ID. Once logged in, click the profile icon in that same area, click ‘Settings,’ scroll down to the ‘Subscriptions’ section, click ‘Manage,’ and click ‘Cancel Subscription.’

Other Tips For Canceling Apple TV+

If the above website isn’t working, that’s because the Apple TV+ subscription needs to be canceled directly from the settings or App Store on an Apple device. For iPhones and iPads, the process is as follows: Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top of the screen, tap ‘Subscriptions,’ tap ‘Apple TV+’ from the list of available subscriptions, and tap ‘Cancel Apple TV+’ at the bottom of the page. On Mac, users need to open the App Store, click the profile icon at the bottom-left, and click ‘View information’ towards the top-right. After verifying your Apple ID email and password, scroll down the page, click ‘Subscriptions,’ click ‘Manage,’ click ‘Edit’ next to Apple TV+, and click ‘Cancel Subscription.’

After canceling an Apple TV+ subscription, it may be worth requesting a refund. There’s no guarantee Apple will provide one, but in some instances (such as forgetting to cancel before the free trial ended), Apple may be willing to do so. To request a refund, visit ‘reportaproblem.apple.com,’ sign in with the same Apple ID used for Apple TV+, click ‘I’d like to,’ at the top of the screen, click ‘Request a refund’ from the dropdown menu, select the reason for requesting a refund, click ‘Next,’ click Apple TV+ from the list of available purchases, and click ‘Submit.’ Apple may very well deny the refund request, but since there’s no harm in trying, it’s worth a shot if someone thinks they might be eligible.

And that’s all there is to canceling Apple TV+! It can be done through the dedicated website, directly through the Settings or App Store applications on Apple devices, and some folks may get lucky with a refund for their canceled membership. Subscribers can also come and go from Apple TV+ as often as they’d like. In other words, it’s possible to cancel a membership for a few months, come back when a new show is added, and leave once again if necessary.
