Mr. Mime is a rare Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but with a bit of luck and patience, players can catch this pantomiming Pokémon in the wild. Known as the Barrier Pokémon, Mr. Mime was introduced back in Generation I and uses psychic abilities to create invisible walls, barriers, and objects to use in its mime performances. Since Pokémon can roam freely in the semi-open world of Hisui in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trainers can spot Mr. Mime pantomiming in the wild, and this funny fellow will even pull up an invisible chair to sit on when it wants to relax and unwind.

Trainers can find Mr. Mime just south of the Sandgem Flats area of the Obsidian Fieldlands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but unlike the Mime Jrs. that also roam the area, Mr. Mime is not a guaranteed spawn. If Mr. Mime doesn’t appear, players can rest at a camp and revisit the area until they manage to encounter one. However, while Mr. Mimes aren’t particularly skittish or aggressive, they can be tricky to catch as they’ll put up a barrier to prevent players from throwing Poké Balls and Pokémon. If players are unable to sneak up and throw a Poké Ball without being spotted, it can be difficult to get Mr. Mime to let its guard down again.

Mr. Mime can be lured by food in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and throwing a Honey Cake, Grain Cake, or Bean Cake can be enough to distract it long enough for the player to go unnoticed. Additionally, items like Sticky Globs and Spoiled Apricorns can temporarily stun Mr. Mime, giving players a window to throw a Poké Ball before it can throw up a barrier. Fortunately, even with its barrier up, Mr. Mime won’t run away and may even follow the player around if it spots them, so players can wait patiently until it gets tired, at which point it will drop its shield for a moment.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Mr. Mime Strengths & Weaknesses

Pokémon Legends: Arceus players may be able to catch Mr. Mime without battling, but lowering its HP can increase its catch rate and make it easier to capture. As a Psychic/Fairy-Type Pokémon, Mr. Mime is resistant to Psychic and Fighting-Type moves and immune to Dragon-Type moves, but it’s weak to Poison-, Steel-, and Ghost-Types. Since the Obsidian Fieldlands is the lowest-level area in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players may want to bring a Pokémon that knows the move False Swipe to avoid accidentally knocking Mr. Mime out if their Pokémon team is at a higher level.

Of course, if players are having trouble capturing Mr. Mime in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, they can catch and evolve a Mime Jr. in the same area of the Obsidian Fieldlands instead. Despite being a baby Pokémon, Mime Jrs. are pretty aggressive and will unleash Psychic attacks at the player if they spot them, but they’re easy to battle and catch, and there’s plenty of tall grass in the area to keep players concealed. Mime Jr. can evolve into Mr. Mime once it learns Mimic at level 25, but players will have to teach Mime Jr. this special move by changing its moveset in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
