Those who are new to FIFA Ultimate Team entirely will be given a random team name by EA, while those returning from FIFA 21 will retain their previous club’s name.

Changing a club name doesn’t provide any benefit or bonus to the Ultimate Team experience. Changing the FIFA 22 Ultimate Team club name is a cosmetic option available to both new and returning players, and it works similarly to the way club name changes were implemented in FIFA 21. While it’s easy to change the Ultimate Team club name in FIFA 22, it’s a hidden option and has a catch.

Players can only change their FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Club name once, so they will want to be sure it’s a name worth keeping around. Additionally, it’s best to keep Ultimate Team club names void of any profanity or offensive terminology, as EA may make players rename their club team again. The FIFA Ultimate Team club abbreviation can be changed as well, and it will be displayed in-game on the scoreboard. Players should make sure to keep the abbreviation clean as well to avoid trouble if an opponent reports it to EA.

FIFA 22: How To Change The Ultimate Team Club Name

To change a FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Club name, players can launch Ultimate Team mode and head to the Objectives tab. From there, head to the Foundations tab. There are a set of Foundation objectives called The Basics. At the very bottom of The Basics is an objective called Club Name. Accessing Club Name will take players to a screen that allows them to change their FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Club name, as well as the abbreviation.

Those who are unsure what they want their FIFA 22 Ultimate Team name to be should leave it set as the EA default name until they are sure. The Ultimate Team name can be changed at any time, but, because it’s a limited FIFA 22 feature, like the preview packs feature, it’s best to wait until a name feels right. The name change will be there for Single Player Seasons, Friendly Seasons, Squad Battles, and all other modes included in FIFA Ultimate Team.
