New World Town Projects are extensive group activities that need to be completed by members of a Company or those who reside in that Company’s Settlement. Town Projects are signed off by a Company’s Governor or Consul, and multiple players can claim missions from Town Project Boards. Every mission completed contributes toward the progress of the Town Projects’ completion.

Town Projects in New World can only begin once a Faction has claimed a Territory, and a Company within that faction has a Settlement. The Town Projects are divided into three categories, namely Upgrade Settlement, Upgrade Fort, and Improve Lifestyle. Settlement upgrades enhance crafting stations in the Settlement, granting access to crafting higher-tier items. Fort upgrades enhance the area’s fortifications, strengthening the Territories defenses during Wars or Invasions. Improve Lifestyle Town Projects benefit those who own a house in that Settlement.

After a project has been selected by the Governor or Consul, either party must pay a small project initiation fee. The fee varies from project to project and can be paid directly from the Governor or Consul’s personal wallet or the Company’s wallet. Once a Governor or Consul signs off on a Town Project from the Town Planning Board, players can claim the respective missions that complete the Town Project. Once a Town Project is completed its benefits apply to both PvE and PvP in New World.

New World: How To Complete Town Projects & What They Do

Settlements have different tiers that are determined by the overall Upgrade Settlement levels. Since this category deals with Crafting and Refining stations, the overall Settlement tier is determined by those stations levels. New World Settlement, Crafting, and Refining stations are all based on a 1-5 tier system. Likewise, the same applies to the Upgrade Fort category, its tier level, and the overall upgrades to the fort. Complete their Town Projects to upgrade the facility tier levels.

  • Workshop
  • Arcane Repository
  • Kitchen
  • Woodshop
  • Tannery
  • Loom
  • Smelter
  • Stonecutting Table

These are the Territory Fort upgrades:

  • Gates
  • Emplacement
  • Repeaters
  • Burning Oil Vat
  • Warhorns
  • Explosives
  • Ballista

Instead of upgrading facilities, the Improve Lifestyle Town Projects apply direct bonuses to New World players for Gathering, Crafting, or Combat within the Territory. These bonuses are not permanent, but they do last for three days once they’re activated. Additionally, Improve Lifestyle Town Projects will always cost more than Upgrade Fort and Upgrade Settlement projects. These are the bonuses granted by completing Improve Lifestyle Town Projects:
