Owners of Apple’s AirPods don’t need a Mac or even another Apple device to enjoy using their wireless earbuds. Connecting AirPods to a non-Apple device, such as a Google Chromebook, is a simple process involving just a few steps. The most important thing is to ensure both the AirPods and the Chromebook are connected to Bluetooth. From there, it’s only a matter of time before the two devices are synced and playing music together.

Released in 2016 as an accessory to the iPhone 7 — which was the first iPhone model to lose the headphone jack — Apple sold close to 60 million pairs of AirPods in 2019.
