Crafting as with every RPG will be a large and expansive part of playing Biomutant. Players will gain the ability to not only modify their current gear with scraps they collect along the way but also craft entire new items from scratch. While taking more material to build, crafting something from scratch will often make it higher quality throughout the world.

Crafting something from scratch also gives players a chance to have a unique weapon to their character and something that works perfectly for their particular build. From swords, axes, hammers, and toothbrushes to futuristic guns and armor, the player can craft just about anything. However, this level of crafting will require the player to become quite the scavenger.

How to Craft and Edit Weapons and Armor in Biomutant

When crafting or modifying anything within the player’s inventory, they will need to head into the Crafting tab in their main menu. This tab will allow players to create both weapons and armor for themselves. If they are trying to craft armor for themselves, they can select the specific body part that they are creating the armor for. If the player is instead creating a weapon, they will need to start with some sort of base item they are building it off of. However, none of this can be done until the player reaches a workbench that they can craft on.

When crafting armor, players will want to keep a couple of things in mind. Seven different parts of the body can be covered in armor. These include the head, face, torso, right and left shoulders, back, and legs. Though most pieces of armor are upgradeable, the face and back armor cannot be upgraded. So if players like a piece of either of these items, but the whole piece isn’t effective they should disassemble it for the parts. All that players need are the materials that they can build into any type of armor.

Crafting weapons works a little differently. It involves a more complicated format and two separate weapon types outside of melee and ranged. These are unique and regular weapons. Unique weapons cannot be modified whereas regular weapons can be with at least one mod. This mod can be changed out at any time on a workbench. Weapons can often be found in pieces that need to be put back together. For melee weapons, the pieces needed to craft a full weapon are a handle and base. Whereas ranged weapons, players will need a base, a grip, and a muzzle.
