How to Earn Gold Skins in Fall Guys Season 3

Though Fall Guys may not dominate social media like it once did back in August, the game is still alive and kicking with enough players to keep the servers running. The developers at Mediatonic have continued to add updates to the game over these past few months, including a randomized nickname system and variations for each game mode. One of the new features added for the Season 3 update was golden skins that players can equip for their avatar.

Gold costumes are exactly what they sound like: outfits covered with gold that gleam in the light. However, these outfits are not available for purchase in the in-game store and must be unlocked through other means. This guide will show what’s needed to acquire them, and how to do so.

Unlocking Gold Skins in Fall Guys

The new golden costumes are tied to the crown rank system that was also introduced in the December 2020 update. Crown rank is determined by the number of crowns each player obtains while playing Fall Guys. These symbols of victory are earned every time they win a full show or earn when they reach certain fame levels each season. While their only purpose in the past was as a currency for buying rare cosmetics, they can now be used to measure a contestant’s mettle! Each crown rank needs a different number of crowns needed to advance, which increases the higher each rank is; the more shows are won the higher the crown rank!

Every time a player advances to the next crown rank, they’ll unlock special rewards: new patterns for their Fall Guy, nameplates for their randomized nickname, and of course, the coveted golden costumes. Each rank level rewards a different prize, so players will need to win several courses to unlock all the outfits. The only way to do so is by winning more shows of Fall Guys, which in this game means coming in first place in the final competition.

Thankfully, players do not need to win any more crowns to immediately unlock some of the costumes. Because the game keeps track of how many victories the player has had since launch, players returning to the game after the December update will find themselves already at a Crown rank higher than one. Those that are able to win enough games to get a golden costume will be able to show off their bling to the other players!
