Unlike Far Cry 3 and 4, in which players would have to upgrade their wallets to hold more cash, players in Far Cry 6 do not have a limit to the amount of money they can carry from the start. However, Far Cry 6 is missing an equivalent for the Far Cry 5 Prepper Stash and Locked Safes that were a quick, lucrative source of cash for players to hunt down. Instead, Yara’s dystopian state brought on by Antón Castillo’s fascist reign is reinforced by the lack of currency around the island.

To make gaining cash a quicker process as they progress in Far Cry 6’s main story, players should pursue the Yaran Story missions that reward Bandido Leaders. As players wait for Los Bandidos missions to finish preparing, there are two activities they can do at the same time. The first is to pick up any crafting materials Dani finds as they travel around Yara. Selling scrap is also a simple process that yields pesos. All players need to do is go to a workstation or merchant and select the Trade Materials button. Here, players can select which materials and how much of each to trade for pesos. There is also a trade-all option that will provide the total value that players will earn for all the units they have of a select type of resource. To maximize efficiency, Dani can sell scrap at the same time they accept Los Bandidos Operations, as they are both located in hideouts around the map that players can fast travel to.

Finally, players can equip special gear that increases the number of materials they harvest, such as the Scavenger set. For players who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Far Cry 6, the Vice Pack includes gear that increases the number of pesos found after killing an enemy and adds the chance to find pesos when weapons are reloaded.
