How to Evolve Chingling in Pokémon BDSP

Chingling can be found in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but specific requirements need to be met for this Pokémon to evolve. Chingling is a Psychic-type Pokémon that evolves into Chimecho, and it is much more common than finding a Chimecho in the wild. Players looking to evolve Chingling should be aware of the conditions that need to be met before it will evolve.

Chingling can be found in a few different locations in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Players can search for Chingling in the tall grass around Lake Acuity, Lake Valor, Route 205, Route 211, and Mt Coronet. Alternatively, players can find Chingling in BDSP‘s Grand Underground in most of the grassy Pokémon Hideaways. Finally, players can use a Quick Ball to capture Chingling at full health, then add it to their party to start the evolution process.

To evolve Chingling, players will need to achieve a high friendship and level it up at night. There are a few ways players can quickly increase their friendship level with Chingling, including battling and giving the Pokémon specific items to hold. Once the friendship level is high enough, players just need to have Chingling level up at night. Players can check their friendship level using the Pokétch that they receive early on in the game.

Once Chingling is captured, players will need to add it to their party to increase their friendship level. The friendship level will grow naturally over time as players battle and travel around the game, but there are a few ways to speed up the process. Players can give Chingling a Soothe Bell to hold, enter it in Super Contest Shows, or give it vitamins.

Checking a friendship level involves using the Pokétch that players receive in Jubilife City. Open the friendship app, which shows the player’s current party roaming around the screen, then press and hold the interact button on Chingling to check the friendship level. The more hearts that appear, the higher the friendship level is. Two hearts indicates the Pokémon has reached the max friendship level, so Chingling will definitely evolve if it has two hearts.

The last step is to wait until nighttime and level Chingling up. As long as the friendship is high enough, Chingling will evolve into Chimecho the first time it levels at night. Players will need to keep checking their friendship level and complete activities that increase it to the maximum level.
