Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced several new evolutionary forms for Pokémon that aren’t known to evolve outside of Hisui, including Wyrdeer, the new evolution of Stantler. Like the other new Hisuian evolutions, Wyrdeer’s method of evolution requires players to train their Stantler with specific moves to get it to evolve. Wyrdeer’s Normal/Psychic Typing makes it unique among the other Pokémon in the Hisui region, giving it several type advantages in battle that can make it a great asset to the trainer’s party.

According to Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ lore, Wyrdeer is loved and respected by the people of Hisui, and it uses its psychic abilities to lead young Stantlers safely through the wild. Wyrdeer is one of the Noble Pokémon that players can summon and ride in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but to complete Wyrdeer’s entry in the Pokédex and add it to their party, players will have to evolve it from Stantler since Wyrdeer can’t be caught in the wild. Fortunately, Stantler is relatively common, so players shouldn’t have too much trouble finding one to train.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Stantler can be found and caught in the Deertrack Heights area of the Obsidian Fieldlands, the Windbreak Stand area of the Cobalt Coastlands, and the Wayward Wood area of the Coronet Highlands. This deer Pokémon has a skittish temperament and will flee if it sees a trainer approaching, so it’s best to take cover in some tall grass and sneak up on it to avoid scaring it off. Players can also distract Stantler with Berries and lure it closer to their hiding spot if they’re unable to get close enough to throw a Poké Ball. A level 42 Alpha Stantler can also be found in Deertrack Heights, and if players manage to catch it, they can evolve it into an Alpha Wyrdeer.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How To Evolve Stantler

To evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trainers will have to get it to use the move Psyshield Bash in Agile Style 20 times. Stantler can learn Psyshield Bash at level 21, but it won’t master the move until it reaches level 31. However, players can give the Move Tutor, Zisu, a Seed of Mastery to have one of their Pokémon master a move, which can allow them to train Stantler to evolve at a lower level. Once Stantler’s evolution requirements have been met, Stantler’s icon in the Satchel will glow to indicate that it’s ready to evolve, but it won’t become Wyrdeer until players activate its evolution manually.

Wyrdeer’s Normal/Psychic Typing makes it weak only to Bug and Dark-type Pokémon while granting it resistance to Psychic-Type and immunity to Ghost. Additionally, Wyrdeer’s attack and special attack stats make it a powerful mixed attacker that can take advantage of its varied movepool. Evolving Stantler will also add Wyrdeer’s data to the Pokédex, putting players one step closer to their goal of catching every Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
