Introduced during the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokémon: Sword & Shield, Galarian Slowpoke instantly became a fan-favorite of the series. Galarian Slowpoke also received a Galarian Slowbro evolution as part of the DLC which came equipped with a shell cannon on its arm, and now players can evolve their Galarian Slowpoke’s into Galarian Slowkings.

Slowpoke and Slowbor are two Pokémon introduced in Gen 1. Slowpoke later received a secondary evolution in Gen 2 called Slowking which required the players to trade Slowpoke while holding a King’s Rock. After Galarian Slowpoke’s first evolution was revealed in the Isle of Armor DLC, fans began to question if there would be a Galarian Slowking. He was later revealed during a trailer for the Crown Tundra, but the method of obtaining Galarian Slowking remained a mystery.

How To Obtain Galarian Slowking in Pokémon Sword & Shield

Much like how players were required to collect Galarica Twigs to craft a pair of Galarica Cuffs to evolve Slowpoke into Slowbro, they will once again need to collect 15 Galarica Twigs. This means that Galarian Slowking can’t be found in the wild, but players will have to evolve a Galarian Slowpoke in order to obtain one. In the Isle of Armor, when a Galarian Slowpoke was given a set of Galarica Cuffs it would evolve into a Slowbro, but in the Crown Tundra, Slowpoke needs a Galarica Wreath to evolve into a Slowking.

Galarica Twigs can be found under trees in both the Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor. Players will need 15 of these to craft a Galarica Wreath. After collecting the required amount, head to the Frigid Sea of the Crown Tundra and find the woman inside the Roaring Sea Cave who can make Galarica Wreaths. She is found by heading to the left side of the Frigid Sea through a narrow river corridor. Once crafted, the player can give the Galarica Wreath to their Galarian Slowpoke and it will evolve into a Galarian Slowking.

It is important to note that Galarian Slowpoke can only be found on the Isle of Armor. Players will need to catch one on the Isle and bring it with them to the Crown Tundra. Evolving a Slowpoke is the only way to obtain a Slowking as they cannot be found in the wild, in max raids, or in raid dens.
