Girafarig is one of the rarer Psychic-type Pokemon to find in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can find and capture this Pokemon. Once the second generation of Pokemon was introduced into the game, an entirely new era of excitement followed. Similar to when Pokemon Gold and Silver released all those years ago, it marked a new generation of Pokemon for players to jump into. While Girafarig isn’t one of the most interesting Pokemon from this generation since it doesn’t have an evolutionary line, it is one of those Pokemon that remains consistently difficult to come across. This guide will show players how they can increase their chances of finding a Girafarig.

The second generation of Pokemon was introduced into the game back in 2017. It is likely that many players who have stayed consistent with the game have their own Girafarig. Special events have happened throughout the years to not only increase the spawn rate of Psychic Pokemon but Johto Pokemon as a whole. Recently, Pokemon Go hosted an Incense event that helped increase the spawn rate of Steel and Psychic Pokemon. Now that the event is over, it is a bit more challenging to come across Girafarig, but not impossible. This guide will show players how they can boost their chances of finding one.

How To Find (& Catch) Girafarig in Pokemon Go

Here are a few things players can do to increase their chances of finding a Girafarig.

  • Incense: Combined with the Weather Boost, players can use Incense to increase their chances of finding Girafarig. Continue to use them until it makes an appearance.
  • Weather: All Psychic-type Pokemon have an increased chance of spawning during Windy weather. Players can check the weather on the upper right side of the screen. It usually matches the weather of the real world so that is something to keep in mind. Dragon and Flying-type Pokemon also have an increased spawn rate.
  • Lure Module: Similar to Incense, players can use a Lure Module on a PokeStop to increase the spawn rate of Pokemon. Players can purchase this item in the PokeShop or collect it from completing Research Tasks.

From experience, Girafarig is one of those Pokemon that players want to collect only to complete their Pokedex. It doesn’t really have any substantial stats or typing. The only real thing that makes it stand out is how rare it is to encounter. Regardless, trying to complete the Pokedex is a big part of the Pokemon Go experience.
