The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon: Sword & Shield has finally arrived, and a few new legendary Pokémon have come along with it. There are plenty of returning legendary Pokémon, including the Regi line of legendaries, but what’s more exciting are the new Regis: Regieleki and Regidrago.

Much like when Regice, Registeel, and Regirock were introduced in Gen 3 of Pokémon, the new Regis will require players to solve a few puzzles in order to find and catch them. Luckily, these Regi puzzles don’t have players deciphering brail or catching rare Pokémon. Instead, players will have to solve four relatively easy riddles. The hardest parts of finding Regieleki are the fights and low catch rates of all of his brothers.

Finding & Catching Regieleki in Pokémon: Crown Tundra

When entering the Crown Tundra for the first time, trainers will be greeted by the legendary Pokémon fanatic Peony who helps the player find a few of the legendaries scattered across the snow-covered landscape. After progressing the storyline slightly, Peony gives the player 3 different legendary storylines to follow, one being the story of the Regis. Players must first collect the legendary clues from Peony for the Regis before they are able to progress the Regi storyline.

The storyline ends with the players battling either Regidrago or Regieleki, but they will need to find and catch all three original Regis before this can happen. Players have to catch the Regis in the Crown Tundra as Regis transferred from Pokémon HOME won’t progress the storyline. Each Regi is located in a different temple around the Crown Tundra, and each temple requires the player to solve a simple riddle. Listed below are the locations and actions required to battle each Regi.

  • Regirock – Northeast of Dyna Tree Hill; Have the first Pokémon in the party hold an Everstone
  • Registeel – Temple located on the west side of the Giant’s Bed; Whistle at the temple door for it to open
  • Regice – Snowslide Slope; Have Cryogonal as your buddy and interact with the temple door

After all three original Regis have been caught, players will need to make their way to the Regidrago/Regieleki Temple located at the Three-Point Pass. With all three newly-caught Regis, players will need to interact with the door to the temple for it to open. Once inside, there will be a bunch of dots on the ground that players can walk over to light up. They will need to light up the circles in the correct pattern to summon either Regidrago or Regieleki, and players can only summon one. For Regieleki, players will need to light up the three on both sides and the dot in the middle to create a semi-X shape (see image below).

If the pattern was entered correctly, the screen will shake and the statue will light up with the same pattern. Players can then interact with the statue and Regieleki will appear. To catch Regieleki, players will need to lower its health with the move False Swipe and use higher tier Pokéballs to increase the odds of a successful catch. Inflicting a status effect such as sleep or paralysis will also increase the odds of catching Regieleki
