How to Find (& Catch) Sharpedo in Pokémon Sword & Shield

Sharpedo reemerges from the sea to appear in Pokemon Sword & Shield. This guide will help players locate and capture Sharpedo. The Isle of Armor DLC has brought along several hours of new content for the base game. With over 100 Pokemon from previous generations, new storylines, and a new wild area to explore, the Isle of Armor gives players a lot to chew into. This includes a new legendary Pokemon, Kubfu, a Pokemon that trainers will build a bond with their time on the Isle of Armor. Sharpedo is one of the many Pokemon making their debut in the Galar region. Here’s where players can find one.

Sharpedo debuted in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. It is the evolved form of Carvanha and is one of the fastest Pokemon in that generation. Also with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the third generation remakes on the Nintendo 3DS, this Pokemon received its very own Mega Evolution, capitalizing on its already intimidating form. Some say it can swim up to 75 miles per hour and is known as “The Bully of the Sea”. That still runs true with Pokemon Sword & Shield, as entering the sea is required to find this Pokemon. Here’s where players can find Sharpedo in the game.

Where To Find Sharpedo in Pokemon Sword & Shield

The neat thing about Sharpedo is that players don’t have to look too hard to find it. Although, this Pokemon is only available if the player has the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass. Otherwise, the player will need to trade with a trainer that owns one or bring one in from Pokemon Home. To find Sharpedo, all the player has to do is use their bike and enter any part of the ocean on the Isle of Armor. Move around a bit, and a shadowy figure will be quickly speeding its way towards the player character. This is terrifying, but exactly what trainers need to find Sharpedo.

To capture it, make sure to use a Quick Ball on the first turn. If this fails, bring a Pokemon with a status move and use it on Sharpedo. This will make it much easier to catch. Battling it a bit will also make it easier to stay in the Pokeball.

Pokemon Sword & Shield is expecting its second half of DLC to release this Fall. The Crown Tundra will feature similar attributes to the Isle of Armor, including over 100 old Pokemon to capture, new story segments, and a new legendary Pokemon to capture. The Crown Tundra does seem to be the more exciting of the two halves since most of it is shrouded in mystery. New Galarian forms of the legendary birds are also present, making many long time fans very excited to battle them. Pokemon Sword & Shield is one of the best selling games on the Nintendo Switch.
