Many of the most powerful Pokémon in Pokémon Sword & Shield are also the rarest and most difficult to find. In Pokémon Sword & Shield, players explore the Galar region, an area inspired by The UK, and can find Pokémon in the wild and by participating in Raids. Togekiss is considered one of the strongest Pokémon players can add to their party, but it is rare and therefore difficult to find. Togekiss also has two pre-evolutions, Togepi and Togetic, and while Togetic is sometimes easier to find, it can take a while and a few specific special items to get one to evolve. Players are likely better off searching for Togekiss specifically first.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Togekiss is a winged, Fairy and Flying Type Jubilee Pokémon. This makes them weak against Poison, Steel, Rock, Electric, and Ice-type moves but strong against Dragon and Ground-type moves. Togekiss can be found in only one location in the entire Galar region and is only available during specific weather conditions, so players should head there as soon as possible to catch one. Here’s where to find Togekiss and catch one, or find and evolve Togepi and Togetic into Togekiss, in Pokémon Sword & Shield.

How to Find & Catch Togekiss in Pokémon Sword & Shield

Players can find Togekiss at Dusty Bowl in Pokémon Sword & Shield. It will be flying in the Overworld and can only be found during Heavy Fog. There is around a 2% chance of encountering one under these conditions. Togekiss also appears in five, 5-Star Raids. The wild Togekiss players encounter can be anywhere from Level 54 to 60.

To catch Togekiss, players should use a Poison, Steel, Rock, Electric, or Ice-type Pokémon. They should also make sure they have a specialty ball, like a Quick Ball or Ultra Ball, to catch it quickly. Because Togekiss is so rare, players don’t want to risk losing it.

If players would prefer, they can instead catch Togepi or Togetic. Togepi is about as rare as Togekiss. Players can always obtain one by trading, but they can also find one in the Non-Overworld of Bridge Field during normal weather, when it is overcast, or when there is heavy fog. Togepi has a 2% chance of spawning during normal weather and when it is overcast and a 5% chance of spawning when there is heavy fog in Bridge Field. Players will then need to increase their Friendship with Togepi to 220 to get it to evolve into Togetic, the next step in the evolutionary chain. To improve friendship with Togepi, players will need to play with it at camp, cook and feed it curry, and level it up.

Players can also seek out Togetic instead. Togetic can be found in the Stony Wilderness. It is a little more common than either of the others and will spawn in the Non-Overworld during heavy fog. There is a 10% chance of one spawning under these conditions.

Once players have a Togetic, they will need to find a Shiny Stone. Players should be able to pick up one of these evolution items from Giant’s Mirror, usually behind the giant stones. They need to give the Shiny Stone to Togetic, and it will evolve into Togekiss.

Ultimately, players can decide which method is easiest for them to obtain Togekiss and add it to their Pokédex. Togekiss is extremely useful against other high-level Pokémon like Tyranitar and Hydreigon, so it is well worth finding or evolving as trainers continue their quest to catch ’em all.
