Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Players play as Jin Sakai, the survivor of the first Mongol invasion of Japan. In addition to the strong story elements, crafting and looting are also large components of the game in the open world, and players can visit vendors or craftsmen to make upgrades.

Players will have the opportunity to gather resources like leather, linen, silk, metals, or wax wood. These resources can be used to upgrade armor and weapons. Silk is used for final upgrades in Ghost of Tsushima, similar to linen or leather. It’s one of the rarest materials in the game and can be used at an armorer to make stronger armor. Simply give the silk to the armorer and they’ll handle the rest. Silk will be represented to the player out in the world of Tsushima as colorful folded clothing.

How to Find Silk in Ghost of Tsushima

Silk can mainly be obtained through Side Tales. These Tales involve helping friends that Jin makes along the way to rescue Lord Shimura. If players hover over a quest icon on the map, they can see what rewards, like silk, leather, and linen, will be offered for each quest. Most side quests will offer two units of silk for their completion. There are 18 Side Tales that will reward the player with silk, related to four allies: Masako Tales, Ishikawa Tales, Yuna Tales, and Norio Tales. Completing all side missions as they are unlocked, or as soon as possible, is the quickest way to collect silk.

Silk can also be purchased from Trappers. When the town of Komatsu has been freed, supplies can be traded to the Trapper for silk. Supplies are dropped by defeated enemies, and all fallen enemies should be looted before moving on to a new section. They can also be found in Mongol-occupied areas, settlements, along paths, and from enemy patrols guarding chests. Once a Trapper has traded with Jin, their stock will be depleted. Don’t worry though; there is a reset time at a later date where they will restock. Sometimes players can also find silk in temples, urts, and villas.

Reserve silk for armor that will get the most use. Using silk at every possibility to do so will leave the player empty-handed when later upgrades come along. Many of the final upgrades of armor will need silk to be completed.

Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PlayStation 4 in the Summer of 2020.
