Though it is not the main goal for players in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, hunting can be a fun experience and a way for players to gain materials, XP, and schemes for better equipment. There are many different creatures for players to hunt, each offering its own rewards. Players will need to build the Hunter’s Hut on their settlement. As they explore the different regions of Norway and England in search of a new place for their people, they are bound to come across the nine Legendary Animals living in each major named map region. These creatures tend to be larger and stronger than their regular counterparts, and they will often drop better rewards. For finding and slaying all nine formidable beasts, players will earn the Master Hunter Achievement/Trophy.

One of the Legendary Animals players will face is not simply a single creature, but a group of several. The Legendary Corpse Feeders are a trio of wolves rumored to be terrorizing and eating residents in a village in Oxenefordscire. While not the most difficult creatures to hunt, they will still put up a fight, and facing a group of three will undoubtedly challenge the player in ways the other Legendary Animal encounters do not. Here’s how to find and defeat the Legendary Corpse Feeders in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

How to Find and Defeat The Legendary Corpse Feeders in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

According to the legend cited in the player’s Hunting Log, the Corpse Feeders are “ravenous hounds” who eat human remains. Players will find the three wolves in a fenced field containing a few rotting corpses. There will be two smaller creatures and one larger one.

To reach the Legendary Corpse Feeders, players will need to travel to Oxenefordscire on the England map, west of Granebridgescire and northwest of Perie village. When players get close to the right location, a blue Mystery marker will turn into a blue pawprint, the symbol for Legendary Animals.

The fenced-in field serves as the arena for this boss fight. Once Eivor enters the arena, the wolves will attack, but players can survey the area safely first. When the Corpse Feeders attack, the best option for the player will be separating the group and facing each creature one-on-one. One way to accomplish this is to use the buildings in the area to get one of the wolves alone. If Eivor climbs to the top of a shed structure, only one wolf will attack at once, immediately giving the player better control over the fight. Another way might be to disorient the group using a skill like Miasma, then getting some distance and attacking from afar.

The Legendary Corpse Feeders follow a similar attack pattern to the other wolves and the Legendary Black Shuck. Players will want to stay in front of it or attack from the side to be able to dodge its lunges. They’ll want to get out of the way of its bites as well.

It’s a good idea for players to wait to go after these creatures until they have at least 90 Power to give themselves the best chance for survival. They should also be sure to bring plenty of rations and possibly upgrade their gear using ingots before taking on this fight.

Once players slay the three Legendary Corpse Feeders, they will earn XP, 1 Oxeneforscire Mystery, 56 Leather, the Hollowed Monolith scheme, and the Death Hound’s Head. They can take the head back to Wallace at their Hunter’s Hut to have it stuffed and mounted on the wall of their home.
