Now that the long-awaited release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has finally arrived, players are now jumping into the decades spanning franchise for the first time in a while. This go-round the jorts wearing bandicoot is attempting to save the entirety of the multiverse from being enslaved by his enemies. Players will need to help crash defeat many different bad guys, break all of the crates in his path, and collect all manner of unique objects.

One of the more difficult challenges that players will be presented with in Crash Bandicoot 4 is tracking down all of the colored Gems. These Gems are hidden through the game and in order to collect them, players will need to complete some very challenging tasks. The upside is that those who complete them will be rewarded with an achievement. This guide shows players how to collect the Red Gem.

Crash Bandicoot 4: How to Acquire the Red Gem

Players will need to travel to the N.Sanity Island map in the game and play the N.Sanity level in order to acquire the Red Gem. This Gem is a little different than some of the others because players will need to solve an environmental puzzle to be given a chance to grab this Gem. Those who manage to solve this puzzle though and grab the Gem will be given the Ruby Red achievement.

As players are traversing this level they will eventually reach a point where some of the platforms start disappearing. Players should then go to the next checkpoint gate and look to their right to see a small drawing on the wall. Players should memorize or photograph this drawing as it depicts exactly how to complete the puzzle in the next room.

Once players make it to the next room they will see another set of nine disappearing platforms. They then just need to follow the instructions on that drawing and jump on the platforms in the order depicted. Players need to jump on the leftmost platform first and then travel around in a counter-clockwise motion. Once players reach the left-middle platform they should hop to the center one. This will cause the Red Gem to spawn on the platform ahead. All players have to do now is grab the Gem and then complete the level like normal in order to acquire the Ruby Red achievement.
