Tsurumi Island is the newest part of Inazuma in Genshin Impact’s 2.2 update. It is an island completely covered in fog. As such, visibility around the island is very limited, but Genshin Impact players have the option to drive back this fog.

Clearing the fog from Tsurumi Island is part of Genshin Impact’s newest world quest, which is called “Through the Mists.” In many ways, it is like Seirai Island’s “Seirai Stormchasers” world quest. In fact, that quest must be completed first to attempt to clear the mists around Tsurumi Island.

If players visit the island without the quest by using a waverider, they won’t get very far; they just get lost in the fog and are returned to where they started. The only way to get past the Mists of Tsurumi Island is through completion of the world quest.

Finding the Perches on Tsurumi Island in Genshin Impact

When accessing Tsurumi Island in Genshin Impact, once players pass through an archway, it clears some of the fog and they will meet Ruu. Ruu is a local boy who is a little bit odd, like the other inhabitants of the island. He will help players clear the fog.

Clearing the fog requires players to make offerings at perches. These perches are scraggly trees that release three feathers around the nearby area when touched. Players must collect these feathers and return them to the perch. Then, they can make an offering to clear the fog. It might seem a difficult task to manage when there is so much fog around, but it is made easier that the feathers appear on the mini-map, and glow so players can see them through the mists.

There are four perch locations throughout the island, so a bit of hiking and improved stamina are required. The first perch is just west of where players meet Ruu. It serves as an introduction to this new gameplay mechanic, so it is the easiest to locate. The other ones are found at Cherai Shrine, Shirikoro Peak, and Autake Plains. They’re easy enough to find because, at this point, they are the areas covered by the fog on the map. The most difficult one is Shirikoro Peak because getting the feathers is a long process with multi-part puzzles. There are good rewards along the way, including a blueprint for the Serenitea Pot.

Once players have made offerings at each of the perch locations, they can return to the Moshiri Ceremonial Site. Here, they get the Maushiro, an instrument that was their entire reason for visiting the island in the first place.

Now, they just need to return to Kama to leave the island, then to Sumida to complete the quest. However, if players return the next day, they find that fog has returned to the island, and a new quest awaits them.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS.
