Story Keys allow players to access Story Chapters for specific characters in Genshin Impact. From the very beginning, players can branch-off and explore most of the world without needing to do any of the story content. Although, each unlockable character comes along with their own set of Story Quests that players can participate in. For those interested in the story (and the rewards that come along with following it), Story Keys are needed to access this content. It’s important to mention that not every character has Story Quests just yet. Not only that, but the characters that do have Story Quests available still have some of the later acts not available in the game. For example, players will unlock Amber fairly early into the game and only Act 1 of her Story Chapters are available out of the possible 3. These will likely be added later in the game. How To Get More Story Keys in Genshin Impact

Once the player reaches Adventure Rank 26, they will get a Story Key for every 8 daily commissions they complete. Since 4 daily commission quests are available per day, players can get a Story Key within 2 days. Although, players can only carry up to 3 of these at a time so make sure to use them when you can. Also, certain characters like Razor and Diluc require prerequisites in order to be able to use the Story Key so keep that in mind when you’re grinding for these keys.

All 4 daily commissions can be done within 20 minutes and should be done anyway since they act as a great way to raise up your Adventure Rank. Even if it’s the only thing you do when you log in, completing daily commissions is the best way to grow in the game. Story Keys are a great way to experience every plotline in Genshin Impact. These are also completely optional so take the game at your own pace. One of the best parts of Genshin Impact is the freedom of exploration the game provides. It’s ultimately up to the player to do whatever they want to do.
