In the earliest stages of Medieval Dynasty players will want to make quick coin in an easy way, there is no easier way than through collecting straw. However, straw in the game doesn’t work the same way that it does in real life. It is not a crop that is grown and harvested, instead, it’s collected from a wild plant.

Players who don’t want to make their money through roughing up other villagers or fighting can take to harvesting a plant they don’t need to grow themselves. As crops take a season’s worth of time to grow and be ready to harvest, players wouldn’t want to get their straw from crops anyway. This actually makes it a much more readily available source, meaning more money in the short run. However, as players progress, they won’t continue to go to the river to collect it.

Where to Harvest Straw in Medieval Dynasty

Though it will not always be as useful to players as it will be in the early stages of the game, straw is still an important resource. Outside of being a great source of easy coin, it is also used in crafting. Straw can be used to build buildings and torches. Though not the most stable resource to build out of, there are plenty of reasons to collect it.

As previously stated, straw doesn’t come from wheat crops in-game. Instead, it comes from reeds. Reeds are the foliage that grows alongside cattails and other lake and river plants. There are several river banks throughout the map, meaning that there are quite a few places players can visit to collect their straw. Most of the lakes that lead into these rivers are in the center of the map, however, there is a single lake in the center of the bottom of the map. While all of the cities on the map are near a body of water, the cities that are closest to one are Gostovia and Borowo.

The hardest part about this is figuring out which piece of foliage are the reeds. Still, this is not hard, as if the player simply puts their cursor over the plant it will be identified as reeds. After harvesting the reeds in the player’s inventory will instead be labeled straw. This means there is no need to go through any other process to make them into straw, simply go up and grab it.
