Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an adventure RPG that relies heavily on developing character skills and acquiring top gear. Throughout the game, players have the opportunity to find better items and improve their character’s combat abilities. There are many different races and classes in Divinity: Original Sin 2, and certain gear will work better depending on a character’s build.

The various armor sets give players a variety of possible builds. Armor pieces can be rewards for several activities such as completing quests or looting world chests. The Devourer Armor is one of the best available armor sets in Divinity: Original Sin 2 for melee-focused characters, and can be obtained by completing the Hunger From Beyond quest.

The Devourer Armor pieces are scattered across all four acts of Divinity: Original Sin 2. A Hunger From Beyond can be started by going to the front of the Gargoyle’s Maze and reading a note left on the dead adventurer that’s lying there. Once started, each progression in the quest will grant players a piece of the armor or a clue for where to go next. Like other armor sets in the Four Relics of Revillon update, there are five armor pieces to find and collect. One piece can be found in each of the first three acts, and two are in act four. To unlock the armor’s full potential, players will either need to follow or fight the Devourer.

Finding the Devourer Armor in Divinity Original Sin 2

Each piece in Divinity: Original Sin 2‘s Devourer Armor set will cause a spirit to follow the player. The pieces are found in various locations across every act, and once assembled, the Devourer will appear. Depending on if gamers are playing as a hero or villain, they can choose to devour the spirits that are attached to the armor or set them free by defeating the Devourer. Although the spirits can be consumed at any time, if players are planning to side with the Devourer then they need to wait and consume the spirits in front of him. The locations for the armor pieces are revealed through advancing in the quest and following the trail of clues given.

  • The Devourer’s Claws (Act I) – The gloves are the first piece of the armor set in the Hunger From Beyond quest. They can be picked up inside Braccus Rex’s Tower in the southeast area of the island. The gloves are inside a cursed chest, and players must cast bless on it before opening the chest.
  • The Devourer’s Steps (Act II) – In Stonegarden’s graveyard, the corpse of a thief, labeled A Shady Digger, can be looted to obtain the Devourer’s Steps. The body is near the lizard incineration pyre.
  • The Devourer’s Eminence (Act III) – Head to the Blackpits in the Nameless Isle and into a cave south of Zorl-Stissa’s Altar. There will be a dragon statue that will give the Devourer’s Eminence after a fire rune is placed in the dragon’s mouth.
  • The Devourer’s Maw (Act IV) – The helmet can be obtained in the vault of Linder Kemm. There’s a cabinet with three buttons at the bottom that must be hit in the following order: middle, right, middle, left, left, then right. The cabinet will open and the Devourer’s Maw can be collected.
  • The Devourer’s Heart (Act IV) – Go through the Lizard Consulate to reach a small garden with a beach below it. Get down to the beach and run along the shore to a boat. The chest piece is inside a sack on the boat.

There is a significant set bonus for equipping all pieces of the Devourer Armor. A random target will be marked in battle, and when the target is killed, cooldowns will reset and the character will be healed. Along with the Devourer Armor, there are a few more armor sets that require quest completion, such as Captain Sech Zapor’s armor awarded for finishing the Threads of a Curse quest. Completing these quests is worth it for players that want to have top gear and succeed in difficult combat encounters. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has a variety of skills and gear options, including the powerful Devourer Armor set.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available now for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, and macOS.
