The Martyr’s Blade is a heavy sword with a lot of range. This sword is great for players who have trouble at too close a range. The weapon is great for staggering enemies of all sizes but has a long strike time. This may not be the right weapon for going up against enemies who are drastically faster than the player, as they will easily exploit the player’s lack of speed. The Martyr’s Blade can be found in the Crypt of Martyr’s temple. Immediately after leaving Sester Genessa, take a left an there will be a statue holding the sword in place. To the right of the statue will be a book. Open the book to begin the boss fight with Hadern.

How To Defeat Hadern In Mortal Shell

Hadern is a human enemy who wields the Martyr’s Blade. Players will need to best him one on one before they can take the blade for themselves. Hadern’s attack patterns are typically simple and easy to avoid, so a skilled player should have few major issues with this fight.

The main strategy is to attack him before he is able to move. Hadern is swinging the Martyr’s Blade, which means his attacks are going to be slow but powerful. Take the opportunity to your advantage and get some hits in before the attack lands. The best weapon to use in this fight is the starting sword, ‘The Hallowed Blade.’ This is a fast weapon that will allow players to get in and out quickly.

Put some distance between the player character and Hadern, then run in and strike a few times while he is winding up. Parry, Harden, or dodge out of the way to avoid the power of that massive blade. If the player does get caught by it, there will be massive damage, so try to keep your character at near maximum health. Immediately following this fight, the player will be rewarded with the Martyr’s Blade.
