A new update has landed in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and it re-introduces the save-loving mole, Mr. Resetti. While he may have been an obnoxious character in previous Animal Crossing titles, players were sad to hear that he had been laid off from his job at the Reset Surveillance Center. As such, he has been absent from Animal Crossing: New Horizons until now.

Mr. Resetti is a mole character who first appeared in Animal Crossing for the Nintendo GameCube in 2003. His sole purpose was to sternly remind players not to turn off their games before saving. Before today’s fancy autosave technology, players had to manually save their games onto memory cards. This was done in the early Animal Crossing games by sleeping in one’s bed. However, if players forgot to save before pressing their systems power button, the next time they booted up their copy of Animal Crossing, Mr. Resetti would be there to scold them for neglecting to save.

How To Get The Mr. Resetti Figure In Animal Crossing

While he may not be back in full form, players can still have Mr. Resetti on their island. The January update adds a ton of furniture to celebrate the new year including sports-themed and festivale items. So, while Mr. Resetti may not come knocking at the player’s door with a lecture about the importance of saving, a statue of his likeness can be placed inside or outside the player’s home as a reminder of Resetti’s overbearing presence.

That’s right, Mr. Resetti is back in the form of a statue that players can purchase and use as a decoration. In fact, players aren’t limited to the number of Resetti figures they can buy meaning they can house an army of porcelain Resetti. The Mr. Resetti figure can be purchased from the Nook Shopping station at Town Hall. It is located under the Seasonal Item tab which means it won’t be around for long. Players can purchase Mr. Resetti between January 28th and February 2nd. If those dates have passed, players can also time travel to make purchasing Resetti possible. It will take a day for the player’s Resetti figure to arrive, but players can also skip a day ahead for same-day shipping.
