The Quick Claw is a useful item in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl that grants the Pokémon holding it a speed boost and a substantial increase in the chance they go first during Pokémon battles. In order to use the Quick Claw during battles, players will first need to find it while exploring the Sinnoh region.

The Quick Claw, a held item in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, is especially beneficial for Pokémon who normally have a low Speed stat, which means they often go second during battle. It will increase the speed of the Pokémon holding it and increase their chance to go first by 20%. It’s a particularly useful item for Pokémon that mirror their opponents’ stats, like Ditto, or Pokémon that inflict status conditions with moves like Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave.

Additionally, when players search for wild Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, using the Quick Claw makes it easier to catch wild Pokémon that are prone to running away, as the player is more likely to have the first move. To best use the Quick Claw, players will want to give it to the first Pokémon in their party. It is important to note that Pokémon can only hold one item at a time, so players may need to plan accordingly before heading into battle.

Get The Quick Claw In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl’s Jubilife City

As players progress through Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, they will arrive at Jubilife City. The city has many shops and visitors but is not home to a gym leader. Northeast of the city near the shopping mart, players can find the Condominiums building directly next to the Jubilife City TV Station. There is a sign out front that reads “Jubilife Condominiums Tenants Wanted!” and a man with green hair and blue overalls standing in front of the correct green and brown building.

Once inside the bright blue doors of the Condominiums building, on the first floor, players will locate a young girl with blonde hair and a pink and purple outfit. She has a Pikachu and a Pachirisu standing near her. When the player speaks to her, she will tell them their Pokémon are very cute and gift them a Quick Claw at no cost. Once obtained, the Quick Claw can be found in the player’s bag in the inventory menu of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

While players can obtain the Quick Claw for free from the girl inside the condominiums building in Jubilife City, there are other ways to find the item. Just like in the original Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, certain wild Pokémon have a 5% chance of dropping the item during an encounter if the player catches the Pokémon. Most notably, Sneasel, Weavile, Meowth, Persian, and Zangoose have a small chance of holding a Quick Claw when encountered and caught.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Pokémon  Shining Pearl are available on the Nintendo Switch.
