The Rush Palamute armor in Monster Hunter Rise is a new layered armor set introduced with the Mega Man event. The Palamute layered armor set is a complete replica of Mega Man’s trusty robotic canine, Rush. In addition to looking like the mechanized dog, the Rush layered armor set changes the animations and sounds of the Palamute altogether. Additionally, other color configurations are available for the Rush layered armor.

Just like the actual Rush in the Mega Man series, a Palamute with the Rush layered armor will hover dash rather than sprint. Additionally, players who jump off a Palamute with Rush’s armor will see a springboard pop their Hunter off, as though they were Mega Man. This crossover event is called “Blue Bomber’s Best Bud,” and while it’s a quest that comes as a free download like the Okami’s Amaterasu DLC, players will need to reach Hunter Rank 4 before taking on this challenge in Monster Hunter Rise.

“Blue Bomber’s Best Bud” is an arena quest where the Hunter must defeat a smaller Zinogre. Zinogres have a resistance to thunder elemental damage but are extremely weak against ice elemental damage. Reward parts for the Rush layered armor are earned after the quest has been completed, and then Hunters can ride their newly outfitted Palamute into battle.

How To Get The Rush Palamute Armor In Monster Hunter Rise

Players will need to remain vigilant while battling Zinogre for the Rush Palamute armor. Zinogre typically remains mobile throughout an entire fight, often slamming its tail down on the ground and summoning lightning to strengthen its thunder elemental damage. Additionally, Zinogre has large area-of-effect attacks in Monster Hunter Rise that can be difficult to avoid. Getting hit by too many of its attacks will result in the player becoming temporarily paralyzed and falling, leaving them open for an attack. This status effect is known as Thunderblight, and it can be cured by eating Nullberries or resisted altogether with Blight Resistance level 3.

As for weapons, players should use the strongest ice weapon they have available in their Monster Hunter Rise arsenal. Alternatively, water elemental or non-elemental weapons will work as well. In addition to its strong resistance to thunder attacks, Zinogre has a resistance to fire and dragon elemental damage. Zinogre’s head and forelegs can be broken by any attack, and its tail can be severed by any weapon that deals slash damage like the Longsword or Dual Blades.
