Skills and techniques are what make any action RPG more interesting the further along players get into the game. Person 5 Strikers is pretty straightforward, but there are loads of upgrades and builds available for players to mess around with when it comes to the Phantom Thieves and their Persona’s. While every character has just about the same combo inputs to work with, each character’s moves are unique down to the very last detail. To make it even more interesting, each character has Master Arts that further diversifies their abilities in combat.

Master Arts are special abilities that provide combat enhancements to the Phantom Thieves Techniques. Master Arts are specific to each character and cannot be interchanged or applied to someone else. In most cases, a Master Art will enhance basic combos, or add more combos that can be used in between certain attacks. Each character has a total of 4 Master Arts, and are unlocked subsequently. Master Arts cannot be enhanced, buffed, or tweaked in any capacity. Applying different elements to won’t work, and some already include an elemental enhancement. For example, one of Joker’s Master Arts allows him to perform a follow-up attack after hitting an enemy with an opening special mid-air, or on the ground. Here’s how players can unlock the Master Arts.

How To Level Up Master Arts in Persona 5 Strikers

Unlocking Master Arts are a lot simpler than the game takes to explain. As long as players are using Joker, and progressing during the story mode, his Master Arts will steadily unlock over time. There aren’t any special requisites, tasks, or challenges that players need to complete in order to unlock them. Master Arts neither have a special exp bar that lets players know when they will unlock them. However, the next Master Art available is always shown after the previous one is unlocked. Once Joker has unlocked all four Master Arts, they aren’t upgraded any further.

For other characters, Master Arts won’t automatically unlock while playing as Joker. Players will have to switch between the other Phantom Thieves and play as them one by one to gradually earn each of their Master Arts over time. So, swap out members frequently and enter battles as often as shadows appear. Pretty soon players will have access to all the Phantom Thieves Master Arts, as well as other characters that join along the way.

Persona 5Strikers is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC.
