While Pokémon Legends: Arceus encourages players to catch as many different kinds of Pokémon as possible, it also rewards players for mass-releasing Pokémon that are taking up space in the pasture. Of course, Pokémon games have always had a way to release Pokémon, and players have mostly done it as a way to make room for more Pokémon or as part of a Nuzlocke challenge. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, however, players are actually rewarded for releasing their Pokémon, and they can even mass release Pokémon to save a bit of time.

Whenever players release their Pokémon, they will be rewarded with a parting gift in the form of either Grit Dust, Grit Gravel, Grit Pebble, or Grit Rocks. Each of these items is used to increase the Effort Levels of Pokémon in Legends: Arceus, which significantly increase a given Pokémon’s stats once they are maxed out. Of course, catching Alpha Pokémon in Legends: Arceus can also reward these items, but mass releasing Pokémon, regardless if they’re Alphas or not, can easily net players dozens of Grit items quickly.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In order to mass release Pokémon in Legends: Arceus, players need to first speak with Marie at the Jubilife Village pasture to see all of their Pokémon. Next, by pressing the” X” button, players will be able to select multiple Pokémon at once to release, after which they’ll be able to confirm before releasing them. Once players are finished speaking with Marie, another NPC who works at the pasture will let players know that all released Pokémon left behind a parting gift. Before releasing Pokémon in Legends: Arceus from Jubilife Village, there are a few details that players need to check regarding their Pokémon.

Things To Know Before Releasing Pokémon In Legends: Arceus

Players looking to mass release Pokémon in Legends: Arceus most likely are doing so for the rewards mentioned above or because the pasture is getting cluttered from mass amounts of catching Pokémon. Whatever the reason is, players should check the summary of each Pokémon before releasing them to review their stats and natures. Each Pokémon in Legends: Arceus has specific stats that they excel in, and there are particular natures that can capitalize on their stat specialties as well. For example, one of the Pokémon that many players will likely want to use on their team in Legends: Arceus is Hisuian Zoroark.

Hisuian Zoroark’s best stats are its Special Attack and Speed, so players will want to make sure they keep a Hisuian Zoroark with either a Modest or Timid nature. The Modest nature will increase its Special Attack while lowering the Attack stat, and the Timid nature increases Speed while lowering the Attack stat. To avoid including Pokémon with great natures in the mass release, it’s best practice to put every desirable Pokémon in a uniquely named pasture slot in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
