Kurumi is the medic Hero in Naraka: Bladepoint, providing an alternate role for those who want to learn how to play something other than an aggressive warrior. Both of her abilities provide her allies with health, but unfortunately, her combat proficiency is designed primarily with trios in mind. This limits her use somewhat, but, in the right hands, Kurumi can be one of the most valuable members of the team.

Naraka: Bladepoint emphasizes the use of melee weapons for up-close combat and supporting items that strengthen these weapons. As a true medical warrior, Kurumi sacrifices her ability to engage the enemy in exchange for the health of her teammates. Her Skill, Binding Prayer, creates a link with one teammate that continuously heals them.

While Binding Prayer is active, Kurumi can teleport to her teammate and knock back the enemy attacking them, giving her teammate an opportunity to repair their weapon and get back in the fight. She can also terminate the link to provide a larger heal for both herself and her teammate and cleanse them of debuffs. Additionally, links to defeated teammates’ Cairns revives them remotely. Her Ultimate, Sacred Circle, creates a healing circle that affects all teammates and cleanses them of debuffs.

Naraka: Bladepoint – How to play as Kurumi

Like all characters in Naraka: Bladepoint, Kurumi’s Skill and Ultimate have two more variations that can be unlocked through Cultivation quests. Binding Prayer’s other variations are Binding Prayer: Reinforce and Binding Prayer: Guard. Reinforce increases her linked teammate’s attack by 20 percent, and a terminated link increases the teammate’s attack by 40 percent for one second. This ability can turn the tide of a fight if timed perfectly with some of the best characters in Naraka: Bladepoint. Guard’s buffs are defensive, improving damage reduction by 20 percent for a linked teammate. When the link is terminated, the damage reduction is increased significantly for 2.5 seconds.

Sacred Circle’s variations are Sacred Circle: Armor Enhance and Sacred Circle: Rapid Healing. As the name suggests, Armor Enhance replenishes armor instead of health points over time. Contrarily, Rapid Healing replenishes a large portion of both health and armor instantly for all allies in its range. Both Kurumi’s Ultimate and Skill abilities make her a good character to choose for new players who are just getting started in Naraka: Bladepoint.

Since Kurumi is best used when playing with a team, her best abilities are going to be determined by what the team needs most. For those less familiar with Naraka: Bladepoint, Kurumi’s paired abilities should be default Binding Prayer and Sacred Circle: Rapid Healing. These abilities require less management and tactical play without sacrificing the benefits they can bring to the team. For the most coordinated trios, Binding Prayer: Reinforce is a better selection. Establishing a  link with an offensive teammate will assist them in combat, allowing them to win fights more easily – especially early when all players have limited Souljades equipped.

Naraka: Bladepoint is available on Steam.
