How To Remove & Change The Apple ID On An iPad

Every Apple device comes with an Apple ID, and if you have an iPad, removing/changing its Apple ID is remarkably simple. Over a decade after the first iPad was released, Apple’s iPad lineup now stands tall as the best tablet portfolio on the market. From the baseline iPad, the compact iPad mini, the powerful iPad Air, and the overkill iPad Pro, every iPad is worth buying for one reason or another. Apple ID is the official name for your Apple account. That’s how to remove the Apple ID from an iPad, but what should you do if you want to change the existing Apple ID to a new one? First, you’ll want to follow all of the steps above to remove the Apple ID. Once that’s done, you can add the new one as follows: Open the Settings app on your iPad, tap the ‘Sign in to your iPad’ button at the top of the screen, tap ‘Email’ to enter your Apple ID email address, and tap ‘Password’ to enter its respective password. Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions, and within a couple of minutes, you’ll have changed your iPad’s Apple ID!

Now that you know how to remove and change the Apple ID on an iPad, it’s also important to understand why these tips are useful. If you’re getting rid of your iPad — either to recycle or sell it — removing your Apple ID from the machine is essential. You’ll also want to factory reset the iPad and unpair it from your Apple account, but removing your Apple ID is an essential part of the process.
