How to Romance Jacob Taylor in Mass Effect 3

Jacob Taylor is one of the romantic options for players within the previous game, but if he is found in Mass Effect 3, how will he react to the player? These opportunities will only come through the Legacy Edition of the gameplay. Sadly, Jacob may not be as serious about Shepard as he appeared to be within the previous game.

Taylor will only survive the previous game’s storyline if they are completely removed from the Suicide Mission. So, if players have done this, they should be able to meet and find Taylor again during the Ex-Cerberus Scientist side quest. Still, players won’t be able to confront him about what happened between the previous storyline into this one until they’re alone on the rooftop.

Can Shepard Rekindle their Relationship with Jacob Taylor in Mass Effect 3

This side mission will only be available to players once they have completed the Priority: Citadel II. During the rooftop conversation, players can prod Jacob for some answers through the investigation options. Quickly, players will discover that between then and now Jacob has fallen for Dr. Cole and is currently in a serious committed relationship with her. Meaning that players can no longer pursue Taylor romantically at all.

This can put a heavy damper on their relationship, and players can play this out for their Shepard to the full extent that they wish. Largely, this consists of either choose to relish in his bad choices or be understanding of the whole situation. While being understanding may not feel great at the moment, players will get another chance to show how Jacob makes them feel.

During the Citadel DLC, players will have a cutscene with Jacob. To get this, players will need to discuss the topic of their previous relationship at the Silversun Strip after they have completed the Shore Leave mission. Then players can complete all their other meet-ups through the private terminal at their apartment. After all the other meet-ups have been done, players will receive one from Jacob. In this meet-up, players will meet Taylor right outside the Castle Arcade.

Here, players will get the choice whether to make him come to terms with what he put the player through by running off with some other person or treat him like an old but honored friend. By being more aggressive, players will get a somewhat direct apology for their actions. Otherwise, players will get to see what Jacob has truly become and battle him on Shattered Eezo. If the player wins, they can rub it in or apologize for not being able to back down. Which is another great way to show him how the player feels without breaking up their friendship.
