Valheim is a rather expansive landscape that is procedurally generated, meaning that the likelihood of players find a trader, or even know that there is one, could be difficult. Yes, there is a trader in the game. This trader, Haldor, is available to both buy and sell items with the player.

The trader only has a couple of items to sell to players but each one is fairly useful. This includes the Yule Hat, Dverger Circlet, Meginjord, Ymir Flesh, Fishing Rod, and the Fishing Rod bait. Each item helping with different things. Let’s see how to find Haldor.

Where to Find the Trader in Valheim

Haldor will randomly spawn, however, he only spawns in one particular biome. This biome is the Black Forest biome. As he will never be in the same spot, players will need to take their time and journey through the biome thoroughly to find him. Just keep a careful eye out for other things that spawn in this biome, like Greydwarves!Players will want to check their maps often while wandering through the Black Forest biome as they should see a money bag icon to indicate the placement of the trader once they are close enough to him. He’ll be posted in a little campsite alongside his mount. Upon approach, the campsite will appear as though there is a clear bubble around it that is glinting in the light.Once the player is upon the campsite, they simply need to speak with Haldor. He’ll offer his stock to the player to choose and purchase. However, if they wish to sell something instead they can click the coin icon on the bottom right of the trading menu. Players should keep in mind that there are only three items they can sell currently and they are all automatically sold together. These items that can be sold are Amber, Amber Pearls, and Rubies. Amber is worth the least at five gold per piece. Amber Pearls are worth 10 gold and Rubies are worth 20. Each of these items’ only purpose is to be sold. If the player hasn’t found any of these items yet, they cannot sell anything. To find these valuable items, players should check chests in abandoned buildings, Burial Chambers in the Black Forest biome, Troll Caves in the Black Forest biome, and Crypts in the Swamp biome.

Valheim is in early acces and is currently available on Linux and PC.
