Destiny 2 continues to keep its fanbase entertained as it rolls out new expansions rather than new games. With each expansion comes new worlds to explore, Crucible matches to play, and missions to complete. The storylines continue to build Destiny’s world as it’s expanded past anything players of the original game could have expected.

With the January 19th update, Bungie rolled out a new Exotic Quest called ‘The Bird of Prey.’ However, developers have given players very little to go on as far as how to complete the quest. Even its beginning is a shrouded secret. Why? It’s not very clear. Perhaps they’re attempting to embrace the true ‘Season of the Hunt’ mentality and forcing players to do some investigative work of their own. Either way, this article will guide players through starting ‘The Bird of Prey’ Exotic Quest in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 – ‘The Bird of Prey’ Exotic Quest

‘Bird of Prey’ is a mission within a mission. It requires players to run the ‘Harbinger’ mission multiple times to collect Feathers of Light. The mission can be picked up from Crow in the Tangled Shores.  As mentioned, beginning the quest is shrouded in secrecy. One crucial component is that players must have Hawkmoon in their inventory. Hawkmoon is an exotic hand-cannon that first appeared in the original Destiny. It’s made its return in Destiny 2 and now comes with handfuls of different mods and catalysts. Paired with many other weapons such as the Cloudstrike Sniper Rifle, Hawkmoon can be deadly in every area of the game. Here’s precisely where players need to go to begin ‘The Bird of Prey.’

Those who have already completed the Harbinger Quest will know exactly where to go. Those who haven’t, pay attention.

  • Travel to ‘Trostland’ in the European Dead Zone
  • From here, head towards the ABS Kastner Building and jump on the ledge above.
  • Deal with The FAllen guarding the area.
  • Use Hawkmoon to destroy a secret wall. Walk straight and turn left upon jumping up on the ledge.

Once players have entered the secret passageway, they’ll be prompted to ‘Begin Mission – The Birdy of Prey.’ From here, they’ll have to collect 5 Feathers of Light as they progress through the Harbinger event.

Like most other collectibles in Destiny 2, Feathers of Light will drop from killing enemies. They can also be obtained as a reward for completing the survival portion of The Harbinger and killing the final boss. There are 5 Feathers of Light scattered through different areas of the event that players can pick up.

Once players have collected 100 Feathers of Light, they will be rewarded with the Exotic Radiant Accipiter Ship. Players may remember this from the Hawkmoon story quest as Crow made mention of it in passing.

Destiny 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
