In Days Gone, maintaining an effective arsenal of weapons is key to survival. Different scenarios in Days Gone call for different loadouts. For instance, getting cornered by a horde of freakers or gang of rippers can only be solved by using brute force to create a path outward. Players may want to use heavy weapons, such as an MG45, to break their way through a mass of enemies. If players are caught in a sticky situation without the correct setup of weapons, it can be difficult to make it out alive.

Thankfully, Days Gone features a variety of firearms, explosives, and melee weapons to use in their battles with the undead. Assault rifles, sidearm pistols, crossbows, heavy machine guns, pipe bombs; every weapon Deacon can carry is suited to different situations. Players will encounter all these weapons throughout their adventures in post-apocalyptic Oregon. Many of these weapons are dropped by slain enemies, and if the dropped weapons are better than those currently equipped, players might loot the dropped weapons. Naturally, players are going to want to store the weapons they like the most for later use. Here’s how to use the weapon locker in Days Gone.

Days Gone: How to Store Weapons in the Weapons Locker

Days Gone is not very straightforward with the weapons storage system. Early on, players will become acquainted with a few camps of survivors, all with their own ways of living. Each camp has a merchant who sells supplies like ammo and guns. These merchants also give players access to the weapons locker. Players also have access to gun lockers throughout Days Gone, which function the same as weapons lockers. When players first go into the weapons locker, it may seem a bit confusing. It is unclear at first how to store looted weapons in the weapons locker.

Unfortunately, it is not possible. Days Gone players cannot store any currently equipped weapons in the locker if they were picked up off an enemy. However, players can store weapons bought from a merchant or unlocked through missions. Unlocked or bought weapons can be switched out for one another within the locker menu. If players want to keep the weapon they picked up on the ground, they must keep it equipped in their inventory. If the looted weapon is dropped, it cannot be stored anywhere.

Although players cannot store looted weapons in the weapons locker, it is a reliable way to make sure Deacon’s loadout is ready to go. Visiting the merchant is an essential part of being successful in Days Gone. The lack of storage options for looted guns also means it is a good idea to buy more powerful guns from the merchant since they can be permanently stored in the locker!
