Ending E is a brand new ending introduced in the remaster for NieR Replicant. This guide will show players how they can unlock it. NieR Replicant is a remake of the older PS3 title built to be similar in gameplay to NieR: Automata. That game was a massive success, bringing in a new slew of fans to the series. Instead of developing a new entry, the developers went back and made the NieR Replicant Remaster as a way to reintroduce this story to a brand new generation that might have skipped out on it the first time. The original received mixed reception for its story and gameplay but the remaster functions as a modernization of this formula, and it has been working in their favor since the remaster has received positive reviews. Alternate endings are a common thing with the NieR franchise so this guide will show players how they can unlock Ending E.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In NieR: Automata, players needed to go through the game 3 different times to get the full story. While each playthrough wasn’t exactly the same, the first two playthroughs focused on characters who experienced the same narrative at the same time. When it came to the third story, the story was completely different, filling in the gaps that were missing from the original. To get the full story, players will want to experience every ending possible. In this remaster, Ending E is completely new. This guide will show players how they can unlock it.

How To Unlock Ending E in the NieR Replicant Remaster

In order to unlock Ending E, players will first need to watch Ending D. This is the option where the player chooses to sacrifice themselves to save Kaine by defeating her at the Shadowlord’s Castle. This can be unlocked after unlocking Ending B and getting all 33 of the available weapons in the game. After watching Ending D, start a new game with a new name and play to the Aerie section of the game. From here, a new section will be made available. Play through this and Ending E will be unlocked automatically. Answer “Yes” to the final question and it will bring back the save file that was deleted when you saw Ending D.

Multiple endings are a great way to keep players coming back for more. It will be interesting to see what new NieR projects will come from the series now that one of the older titles has been remade. It seems to have a healthy future ahead of it.
