Being a vampire in Dontnod Entertainment’s Vampyr isn’t all it’s cracked up to be where the choice a player can make can change the outcome of the ending of the game. With multiple endings, choices will make a difference, but not as much as most other games that have decisions reflect on what players will see when they finish the game. Having different endings gives a good deal of re-playability but can provide different storylines as well.

Luckily in Vampyr, one of the free Playstation Plus games for October 2020,  there are only four endings, and they comprise the Best ending, Good ending, Bad ending, and Worst ending. Many items will get to each conclusion and will require multiple playthroughs of the game to achieve. Each will have a different outcome to what happens to the relationship between Elizabeth Ashbury and Dr. Reid. The choices to get the endings are moral ones for what Dr. Reid does during the game, which means players will have to decide if they will be good or evil, affecting the endings.

How To Get The Best And Good Endings In Vampyr

For the Best ending in Vampyr, a significant part of getting it will be about Dr. Reid draining the blood from citizens. There are a few stipulations to this, though. The first is Dr. Reid can drain the blood of some citizens that have turned. If the citizens are mesmerized and then leeched of their blood, it will not get the ending because no citizens can be hypnotized and then drained. Not killing or embracing citizens is the only requirement. In the Best Ending, Elizabeth and Dr. Reid search for a vampirism cure together. Getting the Good Ending is similar but with a few extra parts to it. Dr. Reid can only embrace one or two citizens and none of the districts and fall. The Best ending doesn’t require the district component of the equations, making it easier to get. In this ending, Elizabeth and Dr. Reid isolate themselves while searching for the same cure.

How To Get The Bad And Worst Endings In Vampyr

To get the Bad Ending, the hostility of districts’ trend continues by having at least one of them become hostile, all while killing as many citizens as possible. Eliminating all of them is not required because that is one of the requirements of the Worst ending. In the Bad Ending, Elizabeth dies, and Dr. Reid continues killing but feels crushed over her death, giving him a reason to continue his rampage. As mentioned before, the Worst Ending happens by killing all citizens, but all of the districts are hostile. For this ending, Dr. Reid becomes a soulless creature who kills with no remorse or feeling and leaves Elizabeth to die with no second thoughts about it.

Vampyr is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
