Players love unlocking new guns in Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. Each new season, Season 3 included, adds new weapons to the game that are unlocked by leveling up that season’s battle pass. However, players who’ve missed out on previous seasons can get their hands on those weapons by completing challenges in multiplayer and Warzone. These challenges can be tricky at times. Thankfully, Season 3 has added a new way to do it.

Season three of Black Ops: Cold War has added plenty of new items to the game like maps, weapons, and operators. However, it’s also added a new way of unlocking weapons outside of multiplayer. Black Ops: Cold War – How to Unlock Every New Assault Rifle

Players who missed out on the Groza and the FARA 83 are in luck. They can still unlock these weapons in Cold War Zombies. Multiplayer and Warzone unlock challenges can be tough and time-consuming. They can also do a number on player’s K/D as they focus on meeting the criteria at hand. Zombie Mode is fun in general. Focusing on specific challenges may make it more enjoyable for some dedicated players. Those same players will also benefit if they prefer co-op PvE to competitive PvP.

Cold War Zombies: How to Unlock the Groza

The Groza debuted in Cold War’s first battle pass but hasn’t seen much love in competitive circles. However, completionists will still want to get their hands on one of Cold War’s first ‘new guns.’ To unlock the Groza in Cold War Zombies, players must kill 250 zombies with an Assualt Rifle while they’re stunned by Stun Grenades or Dead Wire. Here’s the best way to complete the challenge.

Players will want to stick to Outbreak Mode for every Cold War Zombies unlock challenge. They’ll be earning the most points and salvage while maximizing the number of zombies they can kill. Players can milk the easier rounds for as long as they’d like instead of being forced to progress in round-based games of Firebase Z.

Stun Grenades are plentiful in Outbreak Zombies. Players should have no trouble finding them as zombie drops and in loot chests. However, players can still buy them from crafting stations if they so choose. Furthermore, Dead Wire is the best offensive ammo mod players can buy and should be running it regardless. When zapped by Dead Wire, zombies will hold in place with minimum HP left. Make sure to finished them off before the Dead Wire does.

As long as players have Dead Wire equipped to their Assault Rifle of choice, they should be able to unlock the Groza without thinking about it. Keep Stun Grenades equipped for added progression. Stuns are also pretty useful against special enemies, so long as players don’t stun themselves.

For the best results, players will want to progress through the waves of Outbreak Zombies until Salvage is of little use to them. Camp out near a crafting station and keep buying stun grenades. However, don’t progress too far to the point where Assault Rifles are rendered useless. By round eight or nine, the only viable weapons in Outbreak Zombies are Ray Guns, Rai-Ks, and the Hauer 77. Equipping a barrel with +Armor damage will keep player’s ARs relevant, but the drop-off will be fast approaching by rounds ten and eleven.

Cold War Zombies: How to Unlock the FARA 83

The FARA 83 arrived in Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War, and if players missed out on the battle pass, they’re in luck. To unlock the FARA 83 in Cold War Zombies, players must kill 30 enemies with an Assault Rifle without getting hit 25 times. This challenge is not the easiest to complete, so here are some helpful tips for doing so.

First off, Hell Hounds, Tempests, and Manglers will be the player’s worst enemies. Tempests and Manglers seemingly have aim-bot when it comes to their projectile attacks. On the other hand, Hell Hound’s self-destructive attack will catch even the best players off guard.

In Outbreak, milk the first three rounds for the easiest Zombie kills while encountering the fewest amount of special enemies. If focusing solely on unlocking the FARA 83, don’t hesitate to Exfil after round three and start over. Players can track their progress by editing their custom class mid-game. Instead of counting the number of zombies killed, players should focus on not taking damage. They should not stand anywhere where zombies will throw guts at them. Those zombies don’t miss.

Players should unlock the FARA 83 passively if they keep recycling through the first three rounds of Outbreak Zombies. Once they progress further, and Megatons, Hell Hounds, and Krasney Soldats become more common, they’ll have a harder time racking up 30 kills without taking any damage. Ultimately, they’ll be wasting their time.

With Dead Wire equipped to whatever Assault Rifle they’re using, players can progress towards the FARA 83 and the Groza simultaneously. Dead Wire is great for keeping zombies from rushing in and damaging the player. However, Cryo Freeze will work better. Here’s why.

Cryo Freeze procs more often than Dead Wire and, when fully upgraded, will freeze special zombies and regular zombies in place. When rushed, players can freeze incoming zombies and get to a safe distance and avoid taking damage.
