Players adventuring in the Hisui region of Pokémon Legends: Arceus will encounter many Pokémon along their journey. Those looking to complete the Pokédex in Pokemon Arceus will need to catch large quantities of Pokémon. However, players will have a limited number of Pasture slots available to store the Pokémon they collect along the way.

Pastures are Pokémon Arceus‘ equivalent to the PC in previous games of the Pokémon franchise. Whenever the player catches a Pokémon while their party is full, the new addition will be automatically sent to the Pasture. Players can then access the Pasture from Jubilife Village, or by talking to the Galaxy Member present at any Base Camp. From these NPCs, players can swap out Pokémon in their party with those they have captured before.

Over the course of the player’s journey throughout Hisui, the player will gradually get increases to the number of Pastures available to them. Up to 29 Pastures can be unlocked over the course of the game, with additional Pastures available from completing the Main Story of Pokemon: Arceus. This adds up to over 930 slots available for players to store Pokémon that the player catches during their journey.

How to Quickly Unlock All Pastures in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pasture slots are automatically added for the player whenever they have filled up the majority of the Pastures they have already unlocked, up to 29. This means players will not need to worry about their Pasture size at the beginning of their journey, with only the most prolific of tourists filling their Pastures with the denizens of Hisui. Players wanting to unlock all of these natural expansions to the Pastures can do so early in the game. Players can place one Pokémon into each Pasture and then leave the interface with the NPC. Upon re-entering the interface, players will notice that their Pasture list has been expanded. Because catching Pokémon in Pokémon: Arceus is core to the game’s gameplay, unlocking all of these Pasture slots early will allow players to better manage the Pokémon they have already caught.

While “gotta catch ’em all” has long been the motto of the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon: Arceus truly embodies this statement. Players will catch hundreds of Pokémon on their journey of completing the Hisui Pokédex. Luckily, players can easily expand their Pastures just from playing the game. And if players do end up needing more room, releasing Pokémon rewards the players with Grit which can be used to upgrade the Effort Levels of their Pokémon. This means players should never be hurting for storage space throughout their playthrough of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
