How to Unlock Operator Beck in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War has re-vamped zombie mode in a big way. Cold War plops players right back where it all began in Nach der Untoten with some massive additions. Players can explore the Dark Aether, pack-a-punch their favorite weapons, and battle Megaton Zombies. Warzone players got a taste of Zombies last month during ‘The Haunting of Verdansk.’ 

With the new game comes a new set of Operators, each with their own unique unlock challenges. These challenges can be completed in both multiplayer and zombie mode. Some will require a bit of skill, others just some casual grinding. This guide will focus on how players can unlock Beck in Black Ops: Cold War.

Black Ops: Cold War – Unlock Beck in Zombie Mode

Beck’s unlock challenge is fairly straight forward. Players must accumulate 200 kills in zombie mode with a pack-a-punched weapon. While the challenge itself isn’t necessarily difficult, players will need to take a few preliminary steps before they can begin chipping away at it.

First of all, players will need to survive long enough to assemble the pack-a-punch machine and upgrade a weapon of their choice. Cold War’s iteration of zombie mode has upped the difficulty of earlier rounds as players are spawning in with their custom classes. It’s almost like a difficulty switch flips as soon as that first wave of plague-hounds passes.

Pack-a-punching a weapon is not as simple as turning on the power and finding the machine. Players will have to jump through a few loops (and by loops we mean portals) to fully assemble the machine. This Operator unlock challenge may take a little longer than others as it takes a few rounds of opening doors and warping through portals to finally pack-a-punch a weapon. Now comes the fun part of accumulating those 200 kills.

At this point in the game, players should have no shortage of opportunity to rack up zombie kills. Sure it will require skill and copious amounts of ammo, but players should be able to complete the unlock challenge in a few games or one long game.

Once Beck is unlocked, players are free to use him in both Cold War and Warzone. The same can be said for all other Operators unlocked once completing their in-game challenge. We’ll see what Season 1 brings as far as ‘new’ to a game that is still in its infancy. Players are certainly waiting patiently for the integration of Cold War and Warzone.
