Season 4 of Fortnitehas finally arrived, and with it, a battle for the universe and reality as players know it with some of the most iconic Marvel superheroes. Throughout the season, players can earn XP to level up their Battle Passes and ascend to higher Tiers. At various Tiers, they will be able to unlock skins, emotes, and other cosmetic upgrades featuring some of their favorite superheroes. Players will begin the season with Thor as a starter skin and, depending on their version of the Battle Pass, will earn other characters throughout the season, including She-Hulk, Groot, Mystique, Dr. Doom, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Storm.

Players can unlock Storm fairly early in the Season; she becomes available at Tier 53. Each new skin comes with their own emote and set of unique challenges, called Awakening challenges. Typically, rewards for completing these challenges include unlocking the skin-exclusive emote and earning a themed harvesting tool or accessory. For Storm, players who purchased the Battle Pass can complete her Awakening challenges and unlock her Gale Force power emote and her cape. Here’s how to unlock the Storm skin and all its extras in Fortnite Season 4.

How to Unlock the Storm Skin and its Extras in Fortnite Season 4

The only way to unlock the Storm Skin in Fortnite Season 4 is to reach level 53 of the Battle Pass. How quickly players can do this will largely depend on the Battle Pass they are playing on and whether they want to spend real money on the game.

Once players reach level 53, they will be able to equip and use the Storm skin and some of its colorful variants, like the Silver, Gold, and Holo Foil options, as well as a few of the accessories and Storm’s special lightning bolt harvesting tool. They will also gain access to the Punk style variant. To fully unlock all the skin has to offer, however, players will need to reach Tier 60 and begin Storm’s Awakening challenges.

Leveling up a Battle Pass to reach the necessary Tiers requires players to earn XP. They can typically earn XP in any match, scaled to reflect their in-game performance. They can earn extra XP by completing Weekly Challenges and some special or hidden challenges or by finding and collecting XP coins.

For Storm, players will need to equip the skin and complete three storm-related challenges: land at the weather station, ride the Steamy Stacks air vent in the storm, and perform an emote in the eye of the storm. Completing these tasks will earn them the Gale Force power emote and Storm’s cape accessory for the skin.

Only players who have purchased the standard or premium Battle Pass can participate in the Awakening challenges to fully unlock the skin’s features. With the more expensive premium version, players begin the season with the first 25 Tiers of the Pass unlocked, meaning they can get to the Storm skin much more quickly. Players on the free Battle Pass can still unlock the Storm skin, but not the emote or the cape.

Some of the superheroes featured this season have related Mythic Weapons, now called Superpowers, for players to find during a match. Right now, there are only four of these new weapons. While Storm’s Gale Force emote doesn’t have any real power within the game, it is possible a new Mythic weapon based on this power could appear at some point. Players will have to wait and see what other new weapons are added as the season progresses.

Fortniteis available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
