Players searching for happily ever after in Disney Dreamlight Valley can get a great head start on gardening by unlocking the adorable robot Wall-E from the 2008 Pixar film. When first arriving in the once-idyllic valley, players will find an almost-abandoned village and are prompted to restore it to its former glory by seeking out its former inhabitants, many of whom have returned to their own realms. Gardening forms a key part of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s economy, and players who make the effort to seek out Wall-E and bring him back will be able to take advantage of his famous green thumb. A significant focus of the game is building friendships with Disney characters, and it’s a good idea to seek Wall-E out early to get an all-important head start on gardening.

In the starting portion of the game, players are tasked by the wizard Merlin to gather 2,000 Dreamlight, a magic currency that allows players to unlock and explore new Realms to find characters. Players can gain Dreamlight by completing a wide variety of different tasks, such as harvesting fruit, mining minerals, and catching fish to sell to Goofy. Once players have gathered enough Dreamlight, they will be prompted to remove the Night Thorns blocking the gate to the village’s Dream Castle. Inside, players can access the game’s many different Realms over the course of the game.

Many players likely have fond memories of Wall-E from the critically acclaimed 2008 film; in fact, Wall-E was recently inducted into the Criterion Collection, a testament to its enduring popularity and increasingly relevant message about climate change. Luckily, on first entering the castle, Merlin offers players a choice between three different realms. At this stage, players can visit Remy from Ratatouille, the Disney princess Moana, or Wall-E.

How To Unlock Wall-E In Disney Dreamlight Valley

By selecting the “a desolate planet with a shy robot” option, players can access Wall-E’s realm. However, bringing Wall-E back to the Valley isn’t as simple as just chatting with him, and players will have to complete a few quests to convince him to return.

Meet Wall-E And Fix His Broken Track

When players first come across Wall-E in the junk wasteland, they will find him stuck, thanks to a broken track that needs to be fixed. Players should hopefully have completed Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Royal Tools quest and obtained the Shovel, which they can use to dig up the ground nearby to find a Fridge Door Handle. As the name suggests, this can be used to unlock a rusted fridge nearby, which contains a spare Track for repairing Wall-E.

Pick Up Some Trash

At this point, Wall-E will be a bit less wary of players, but they will still need to win him over by giving him a helping hand with tidying up. First, players need to pick up 60 pieces of trash by dismantling and removing the many trash piles littering the area; this isn’t too hard as there are a lot of piles to be removed. Once players have collected enough trash, they need to craft it into Trash Cubes, which can be done at the nearby Crafting Station. Players might want to learn how to upgrade inventory capacity in Disney Dreamlight Valley at this point, although this can be pricey. Once done, they should give the cubes to Wall-E.

Help Wall-E With His Plants

Next, to win Wall-E over, players need to bring some green back to the wasteland, much like he does in the movie. This can be done by planting 8 of Wall-E’s Special Seeds, which players will likely have come across while rummaging through the rusted fridges for the spare Track. To plant, simply equip the Shovel, dig up spots in the ground and plant the special seeds. Then players should equip the watering can and water the seeds. They should grow in no time.

Sadly, Wall-E is devastatingly shy and needs a bit more convincing. Players should head back to the Valley for now and speak to Merlin.

Collect Gifts For Wall-E

Stardew Valley inspired Disney Dreamlight Valley, so players won’t be too surprised when Merlin suggests collecting a few gifts for Wall-E. Players can find three gifts for Wall-E, including the Ball by simply visiting Mickey Mouse at his home and speaking to him, and the Sprout Boot by talking to Goofy about Wall-E’s present. Goofy will then mention that he fished up an old boot, and there’s likely another one to be found so that players can fish for it in the Peaceful Meadow’s ponds. Players who’ve seen Wall-E will likely realize the boot is a homage to the film, where it’s a key part of the story.

The third and last gift is the Fire Extinguisher which players have to get from Scrooge McDuck. Players might already have spent some time advertising for Scrooge McDuck, but he won’t give it to players for the sake of friendship. In fact, he’s still notoriously frugal, so players will have to trade for it. Scrooge asks for 2 Garnets, which are gemstones players can occasionally find from mining cliffside rocks with their Magic Pickaxe. Regardless, once players have the gems, Scrooge will hand over the item.

Help Wall-E Move In

Players should return to Wall-E and give him all three gifts, which will convince him to move back to the village. First, players need to help him move in by returning to the Valley and placing a home down for him to live in. This can be done by opening the Inventory, selecting the Furniture tab, and placing Wall-E’s Truck.

To complete construction, players will need Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Star Coins, which they can earn in many ways, such as by harvesting and selling crops. Players can then interact with the construction sign at the construction site to pay Scrooge 2,000 Star Coins to finish construction.

Now that’s he got a place to stay, Wall-E will happily move back in and become one of the NPCs in the player’s village. At this point, players will be able to interact and hang out with him and can also complete his friendship quests to build up their friendship levels and earn extra rewards.
